  1. I'm strictly a HiTec guy and have been for years. They cut their boots a little wider fi you have wide feet.
  2. GPS came first. My wife bought a Garmin III+ for me for Christmas 2000. Some info on geocaching was included, but I didn't grab me. The following October, I was mountain biking in a state park when I saw these two guys running around looking for something. I asked them what they were doing, they explained it to me, and I was hooked.
  3. quote:Originally posted by DisQuoi:I'm driving from Baltimore to Hershey with a friend on the condition that he give geocaching a try. We are planning 3 hours into out schedule to allow for this. Can anyone recommend any excellent geocaches along this drive? Self promotion is okay There are at least six caches that I recall along the North Central Rail Trail between Parkton, MD and York, PA. It's a nice mix ranging from a couple of virtuals to a couple of higher difficulty. And the trail is a beautiful area for a bike ride or walk.
  4. I've got a problem with the maps not loading on cache pages. It just comes up with the frame and an X in the upper left hand corner. The odd thing is that the problem occurs only on the cache page, nowhere else either inside or outside the geocaching website. Any ideas?
  5. I selected all of the states in that top box of the location query and did not select any other countries. I think that top box also has New Zealand and Australia, and I just selected those also, because they're there.
  6. Also carry a whistle. I have a high pitched and loud key chain whistle I bought at REI for $4. If you break your leg, you don't want to sit around for eight hours waiting for someone to realize you're missing. I do alot of solo mountain biking and geocaching, and it makes me feel more secure having it.
  7. I saw the same thing with a cache in Pennsylvania. It was suspended by a nylon rope into an abandoned well. At least two finders did not "find" the string to pull it up, and logged it online as a find. The cache owner let it stand as a find. Why bother to sign the log.
