  1. I totally agree. Who is writing these logs? Definitely NOT HQ... Or maybe this is to say that Geocaching HQ is the one sending you all this HTML stuff???
  2. Well explained! Just what I would rather have than the latest change (definitely NOT an UPDATE...) Yes, Opt-IN, please!
  3. Domo!!! I love this idea. Yet, even better, I would rather put the "Picked up any Trackables?" ABOVE the "Dropped off any Trackables?"! Sadly, although listed as SUBMITTED (21313), and me posting on both cache logs AND the TB page about it's "Missing" for every unfound TB I did not encounter, I do not have much hope of this to improve...
  4. Domo!!! New email titles became longer, but contains less information. Not cool. New: "Watchlist Notification: Colin Lynch: Great Chefs of Boston Series (GC2VFW3) has a new Found it log from Cacher" Old "[LOG] Watchlist: Cacher found Colin Lynch: Great Chefs of Boston Series (Traditional Cache)" Do not need the word "Notification". Too long for showing, and for readers to identify the more-important stuff behind this. Must be short. Needs the 'Cache Type' included. On the other hand, the order does seem somewhat logical, as 'Cache Name' comes first, the 'log type', and then the 'cacher name'. The switch of the 'subject' needs us to get used to.
  5. From the Help Center (http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=277): And it says "updated 7 June 2014"... So, officially "Mystery/Puzzle Geocache", it now is. Better than very vague "Unknown", I guess. But still, this is going to cause some major code editing all over. I wonder if this has been notified to everyone related to Geocaching, Cachers, GPSr manufacturers, programers, etc. beforehand. Or, HQ 'just' changed it all of a sudden...
  6. Yes, they did... And it's back to <type>Geocache|Mystery Cache</type> again. *sigh* My Garmin 450 is now showing just a general Treasure box instead of a "?" icon for the Mystery/Unknown/Puzzle/whatever-they're-called caches... It seems like there is a major terminology mess-up. As a Groundspeak volunteer translator, I really hope HQ gets this straightened out, forever locked-in, and universally implemented everywhere, to avoid further confusion & chaos. What should these Mystery/Unknown/Puzzle Geocaches be 'officially' called?
  7. Domo!!! YES, please Please PLEASE bring back the "Distinct Cache Find" number back!
  8. Domo!!! For other cacher's public Bookmarks, I would LOVE to have an additional column that shows whether you have found it or not , just like your own Bookmark. Please? ~ Dr.MOR
  9. I ditto that. I want it back as well. Please?
  10. Domo!!! Has the update broken the Authentication feature? Web site : https://www.geocaching.com/OAuth/Authorize.aspx I am trying to use Project Geocaching http://project-gc.com that requires to authenticate using the Groundspeak Geocaching Live API, but I cannot right now. Too many redirects? Hope it gets fix, and soon. Thanks, ~ Dr.MORO
  11. Yep. The friendly top banner with Signal says "Geocaching Statistics are currently unavailable. We are currently working to fix the issue."
  12. Domo again!!! Stats page down now? Updating to the new Stats???
  13. RIP, Roger Lee Easton, Sr., the Father of GPS. (April 30, 1921 – May 8, 2014) Wikipedia: Roger L. Easton Without you, we all could not have enjoyed this game.
  14. Domo!!! Please read here & here for the latest updates on Lab Caches.
  15. Domo again!!! Additional information: Help Center: "7. Lab Caches / Geocaching Adventures"
  16. Domo!!! EXTRA! EXTRA! EXTRA! Email newsletter from HQ: "Your Lab Cache finds are now more official than ever. Lab Caches are scheduled to be rolled into Geocaching find statistics and your milestones beginning on June 3, 2014. Besides cheering, there's one other thing you might want to consider doing. The addition of your Lab Cache finds may alter your milestones. Check now to lock-in milestones on your Geocaching.com profile. After the update, you'll be able to use the tool to lock in a Lab Cache find as a milestone. You'll also find Lab Cache stats on your chronology and geocache types section. If you created a Lab Cache and it was logged, you'll find new stats on your owned geocaches page. Thanks for finding a Lab Cache and helping to play a part in shaping the future of geocaching. Sincerely, Everyone at Geocaching HQ"
  17. Thanks for the info. I DID log using my iPhone App on site. Thanks as well! Amazing! Yes, editing my log DID fix the issue, and awarded me with the CITO 2014 Souvenir! Still no sure why this happened in the first place, though.
  18. Domo again! Found the CITO 2014 souvenir online here. But, still not on my Profile yet...
  19. Domo!!! Same here. I attended my own CITO event, and still no CITO 2014 Souvenir. Other attendees all do not seem to have earned the specific Souvenir as well. Weird. Hope this will be fixed soon.
  20. Domo again! Self-reply: Never mind, as it seems like the system does not like certain characters within the file name, and refuses to upload it, giving the error message. I changed the names on the files themselves, upload them, then went to edit & retype the names on screen, and all good now.
  21. Domo!!! Has anyone have problems uploading pictures to your own Trackable lately? The problem is, trying to upload a picture to use, after selecting the picture file on my Mac, and entering the name, I press "Upload", but it fails and give a "500 - Server Error" message. Something wrong with the server after a major update/upgrade yesterday? My system is Mac OS X 10.9.2 with Safari 7.0.3, both the latest. I have tried other web browsers like Firefox and Google Chrome, but get the same error message. Weird...
  22. Has something changed over the weekend? Not fully sure, but in Mac OS X 10.9.2 + Safari 7.0.2, everything is the Stats page is now showing fully and correctly. Fixed? By whom? Google? Groundspeak? Apple? In any case, good to go.
  23. Domo Kissyfurs! You can go to My Geocaching Profile dot com, or Project Geocaching (Project GC) to find out your average Found log lengths, plus other text-related geo-stats. Keep them comin'!!! ~ Dr.MORO
  24. Domo!!! I have recently noticed a cacher has been somehow mysteriously & virtually mass-discovering a ton of Jeep TBs lately. Check out his "Trackables" list in his profile, as he has 504 Yellow, 351 White, 298 Green, and 298 Red Jeep Travel Bugs discovered! That's 1451 Jeep Travel Bugs all together! How the hell??? I am just wondering is this a very well-known issue about Jeep TBs? Is there a list that is circulating out there on the net that he has? Or, has he decoded the TB numbers, or what??? In any case, must be a sad lad doing so. Just like logging a cache you haven't found. Total lack of 'geo-etiquette', and completely missing commonsense. Is it fun at all 'faking' your own experiences? And for what reason? I really don't get it...
  25. Domo again!!! Looks like it has been fixed? Thanks for the quickie!
