  1. The help article just explains a decision that I don't agree upon, and which is in discrepancy with the way countries are counted for as shown above. I can't explain why MNTA thinks its laughable, unapropriate in this context.
  2. So Ireland is recognized when counting Countries, but not souvenirs, doesnt make sense.. (Im danish, and as such not influenced by any conflict whatsoever)
  3. It dosnt explain why there isnt a souvenir. You can have a souvenir for UK but not for Ireland. Both are members of UN and was members of EU, Uk not anymore, so does anyone know an explanation? Ireland IS in the list of countries we have cached in, so someway its recognized ??
  4. Why isn´´t there a souvenir from Ireland ?
  5. I haven't tried, but it makes no sense in an iterative process, as the editor always starts in wysiwig mode.
  6. In source mode <ol style="list-style-type:lower-alpha"> <li>Tag her et billede der viser ....</li> </ol> In wysiwyg mode: a. Tag her et billede der viser at Final cache description: 1. Tag her et billede der viser
  7. No, the change has yo be made in source mode.. When you switch to wysiwig mode is seems to be OK, but when you save the edited cache and view it as a normal cache, the numbering has returned to 1,2,3
  8. Yes you have to use the wysiwyg editor, in source mode., I have tried to insert above, some screenshots. The (type="a") is translated into (style="list-style-type:lower-alpha") the first time you save.
  9. I have tried to make an ordered list, you know 1.bla bla, 2. bla bla etc. and I would like it to be a. bla bla b. bla bla. I can do this by setting a type tag in source code view, and the preview is also very good, but when i switch to preview the cache page it return to 1,2,3... how come ? ol style="list-style-type:lower-alpha"
  10. I have created a lab cache (GC8FYVX) and used the feature to display a "reward" journal video about each subject. But by doing this, the journal message is not recorded. When completing the labcache a bonus cache is available, where you have to remember the answers to get the final coordinates. And as people don't write down the answers some has to repeat the walk. As the videos are from youtube, I have no control of embedding the answers into the videos. Can I request a change to the app, where the video can be presented as "reward" without recording it into the journal ? /peter
  11. Just tried it on a virtual, works, Youre the best. THX !
  12. and also my new A40 useses too much battery. I guess the procedure of calculating the distance to the target can be tuned down, not calculating every millisecond, but only ever 10-20 sec
  13. Same here, logging a lot of EC in Scotland was cumbersome.. using Chrome, newest edition. Using the Message this owner link and then answering the EC questions (or Virtuals), then presseing "Send" and nothing happens. Pls. FIX ! br Peter Must have connection to "

  15. Hi We resently discovered with several Samsung devices (Android) that using the app rapidly consumed all our energy on the phone. Then we were not able to fulfill our quest before using any backup device. Discovered in the Aberdeen 2019 Adventure lab caches. ( Especially Balleater) best regards Kirsten and Peter
  16. Did try this, and even closed Chrome and restarted. But tried again, and this time it worked. Thx. Peter
  17. Seems like I cannot send messages in the message center (some times) but urgently this morning? I use Chrome, latest update, no extensions active, clicking on new message (+) dosn't active a new message, and if I contact another geocacher (like TB owner) write something, and clikc "send" nothing happens?? enabling "press enter to send" does not work either ? What to do ? best regards Peter
  18. Hi From time to time we fall upon remains of caches not cared for. Our sport has unfortunately introduced more plastic in nature "geolitter" called by someone. More and more public attention has been drawn to plastic in nature and the consequence for nature. Our dilemma is that on one hand plastic boxes are a very good way to protect our logbooks, on the other hand we a spreading plastic in nature. Our sport deserves a better reputation. I therefore suggest a new status "Collectable" on a cache. This status should only be set by reviewers, on request from user on a "Needs Archived" log, or by other findings. Geocachers who recognizes this status, should rush to collect the remains, and as a reward, could get a souvenir (aggregation mechanism to be developed), or an extra point in the statistics. A Collector Badge could be considered as well. The reward should be given when a "Collected" log is issued. Photo is required. Another situation also arises, where a geocacher leaves the area where his/her caches are placed, and the reviewer feels that the caches should be closed. Today they can be archived but left in nature, but using the suggested feature, a successful collection can be started. More examples could probably be worked out. Where did you meet "geolitter" the last time ? I hope you will receive this suggestion and include the implementation in future releases. Best regards Peter Lindemann
  19. I think it would be a help for Groundspeak if you in different browsers could confirm that using this link: https://coord.info/GC5W4CE you will get the same picture as above., ie. with blue water on openstreetmaps.
  20. I did not make this post to be advised to use another map. It was ment as a kind reminder to gc.com to fix the problem. And since the map link are to openstreemap but this site apperantly works ok, something has broken between gc.com and openstreetmap. Anyway map information displayed on the preview in geocaching.com website I cannot change. So its an error. /peter
  21. The copyright notice refers to openstreetmaps ?
  22. Hi Did som caching on Orø (Denmark / Zeeland) and when viewed in geocaching.com app, the island (not the roads) has disappeared. This is using "Paths"/"Stier" map, a premium member feature using openstreemaps. Testing the same on openstreemaps.org reveals that it functions here. I guess the error is on gc.com side ? The same occurs when you look at a cache at Orø https://coord.info/GC5W4CE, the preview shows water and no land. But roads are ok ?
  23. Tried a traditional today using the gc.com app for android (newest one, and updated). Found a cache (tradi) on the map, pushed "start" and went for the cache. No one found. Searched high and low. Went home and did some research with CO. It appeared that CO has changed the final coordinates a month ago, across some railway tracks. Looking at the map the cache were on the new updated coordinates, but when you pressed "start" it went for the old ones. Also the old coordinates appeared as waypoint in the app. When logging out and in again in the app, the stored data is cleared and the new correct waypoint appears in the app. This seems to be a tradeoff for storing off-line data. On the other hand the cache shows on the right spot on the map ?? Try this youself. Its a feature but not a nice one /pli
