  1. Picture sitting in your car on lunch break, you see a couple of people poking around in the bushes. ok maybe you think nothing of people prowling around at the time, but over the course of a couple of weeks you see people visiting these bushes. How long before you report this strangeness or go and investigate it yourself? Once a muggle finds the cache who knows what will happen.
  2. Mostly going back to log new TB that were added, plus i wanted to drop off some swag. Not really interested in trading for anything but thought it would be nice to stock up a non-LPC with some nice swag lol
  3. Is it proper to revisit a cahe you have already found for the purpose of logging new travel bugs to that cache? If so how does one log the visit? as a note perhaps?
  4. Like you i do not have a GPSr yet either. i will get one after the new year just gotta get though my busy season first. However dont let get you down. I have found seven caches so far and everyone was done with Google Maps. i be lovin that satellite image lol. Of course it helped greatly i have only hit the caches local to me so i know the area. This is a really fun and addictive adventure enjoy it!
  5. Quite correct, but i was only answering the question. Truth is i am so new to this game i dont even have a sig item. Were i to make one i think it would be in the form of a resin cast trinket with my info on the back. Would love to see what others are using to give me ideas
  6. Its fairly easy to do. You need a pragram like PintMaster, Printshop, etc. They have a template for business cards. Just make a number of cards and print them out. You can even buy pre perforated biz card paper. However i would suggest a cardstock as it will stand up better. Instead of laminating the cards i would suggest you just buy some heavy duty clear packing tape. Laminating the cards will run into money fast and it is really not that important. Just print out your cards and tape them up, then trim, easy
  7. Thanks everyone for the advice. To answer a few questions. My friend did not say anything in regards to using his cell phone. I seriously could not see doing that anyway. Cell phones are way to fragile to run around like i would need. I already own a GPS for my van (Mio digi walker) its fine enough for directions in my car. No this GPSr would be used solely for Geo Adventure. MAYBE i could see using it for hiking with scouts, but as the boys are very young i doubt we would go on that kind of hike. I do have a best buy and a bass pro shop local to me and do plan on a visit soon. I am in the read everything/ listen to everyone phase right now. I am a baker by trade and this is my busy season. I wont have time to breathe till after xmas. Actually this works out really well for me as it gives me time to research. As this is a big dollar toy and one i will depend on to do its job correctly i want to find the best match for me. Everyone has their favorites so i just have to learn what mine is. One advantage in the DeLorme is that is comes with maps. Perhaps they are not the greatest and will need upgrading. With the Garmines you pretty much have to buy the maps just to get started. Since the maps cost almost as much as the unit it will greatly reduce my starting point. I also like the look of the DeLorme over the Garmins. But Garmin is a huge brand name so i feel more comfortable going with a tried brand. Still looking and exploring my options. I dont really understand much about paperless yet, but i think i can handle the lack of it. I bought a 3 ring binder and printed out lots of caches local to me and i like that pretty much. It allows me to keep a hard copy list so i can keep notes and the like. thanks
  8. Actually he was not using a GPSr but his cell phone.
  9. Hello, Well this is my first post so guess that makes me the dreaded newbie lol. I got interested in Geocaching very recently after running into some cachers at a Cub Scout round table. Sounded like fun and i have been needing a reason to get out of the house. That night after round table they took me out caching and i went home with two finds under my belt. Now i am hooked! I have been reading tons of info on the adventure and getting ready to buy a GPS. so busy at work right now so it wont be till after the first of the year. Thats ok while i may be chomping at the bit to go hunting, it gives me time. Time to find out what i need to know and time to find a good GPS system. As i am new to this i am not well versed in what people are using. After reading up on GPSr's i think (only think) i have it narrowed down to three. I like the Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx and the eTrex Vista HCx or maybe the DeLorme Earthmate GPS PN-30. I am looking at them so far. I figure at the $300 - $400 range would be good to start. Anyway i am still reading and learning as much as i can. Live in Nashville and from the looks of things we have lots to find around these parts. Thanks for the welcomes Geo-Jerry
