  1. Hi Angus Most of the NZ cachers hang out in the onshore 'local' forums at NZGPS Society and Kiwicaching Have a look at either of them and you'll certainly find other cachers from Canterbury. Cheers the.pud

    OK, Fess Up

    It's back Yee Haa
  3. Could be interested.......are they going to be a combined event with similar listing details or is each event going to be it's own entity? Event is probably better for the afternoon here as a lot of cachers work Saturday. But it's a good idea. Let me know more details when you have them. Cheers the.pud
  4. Hi vincentnz I would email the owner and let them know that the cache has gone firstly. And maybe suggest you could replace it for them, (if that's what you want to do) or tell them that it will need replacing. The only problem with replacing is that now if has been found/muggled then someone knows where it is........I would suggest if you do replace it you replace it in a different place and let the cache owner know the new co-ords so they can update the cache page. Hope this help you out. BTW most of the NZ cachers hang out in this forum gps.org.nz you might like to try here in the future. Cheers the.pud
  5. Hi. There are some free open source maps for the whole of NZ here they are not topo maps but are auto routable and have a huge POI file that comes free with them. Most of the geocachers here in NZ use them. If you looking for topo maps then try here or here I believe both are very good. If you want to get any more info you might be better to ask at the NZgps forums as thats where most of the kiwi people hang out. Hope this helps you out.
  6. If you go direct to the itunes store and log in under your NZ name/email address, then search geocaching you will find the app. And you can buy it when you are in NZ. Hope this helps.
  7. Hi Paora You might be better to try the NZ forums. http://forums.gps.org.nz/ as more people read and talk in those forums rather than the US ones. Yes it's fine to go back to a cache and take/put in TB's or Geocoins, that is what happens with the TB hotels that are around the place. Hope this helps. Cheers the.pud

    FTF Prizes

Hi Kripper You might be better to try the NZ forums. http://forums.gps.org.nz/ as more people read and talk in those forums rather than the US ones. It is entirely up to you what you put for an FTF prize, it just depends how much you want to spend. But you don't even have to put a special prize in the cache either, again completely up to you. Cheers the.pud
  9. Add to that a way of logging finds in the field like GPXsonar and then being able to email them to you computer. Then the iPhone will be a great caching tool.
  10. I do have some NZ geocoins available, They are $50USD each contact me if you are keen.
  11. Looking at the profile of the said cacher i did see this "Fun - That’s the only reason why geocaching is one of our hobbies. We don’t take it too seriously and we don’t take part in any discussions about the game. The minute we stop having fun doing it, the GPS devices will be turned off." I wonder if now that a lot of the caching community know who the person is, weather or not they will enter into any discussions??? At the VERY least make a PUBLIC apology to WackyB for all the stress caused.....or will they hide??? It's all VERY sad to see someone stoop this this level.
  12. Hi bnug you might be better asking the same questions on the gps.org forums. Most of the NZ cachers hang out there and there will certainly be someone who can help you. Go to forums.gps.org.nz Cheers the.pud

  14. Glyn Go to gps.org.nz forums and ask the same question, you will get more of a responce as not a lot of people watch these forums. Cheers the.pud
