  1. So I have a really amazing idea for an adventure lab and there are almost none by me. I've really been into them lately and I'm curious how to get the opportunity to create one. Anyone know?
  2. Anyone else having issues uploading pics onto caches?
  3. Well, there is one here in Oregon that has 5 DNF's in a row and three people said CO needs to check on it! Since it's an older cache (year?) those 5 have been over the course of a month and as a 1/1 cache. with no DNFs before that. It's obviously gone. Cache owner still hasn't checked on it.
  4. Up to 53$ Bidding is almost over! Anyone who knows These Etrex Ventures are worth WWWAAAYYY more than that!
  5. Well, I posted this up on Ebay. Will be a secure transaction. Right now the bidding is at .99$ happy bidding! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...=STRK:MESELX:IT Perfect for caching!
  6. I got one that is about 10 feet from my front door, right in front of my living room window. I usually cheer the people on, and if they are having a hard time. I give them a "bump" in the right direction. My cache is different though...EASY to spot....Hard to get down....Unless you have the geotool that is hidden in my yard somewhere I love meeting other cachers! I will introduce myself everytime, I have not met one single grumpy gus either. Most all the cachers have been overly friendly.
  7. These are great! How do you make them? I use a cheap clay, roll it out to around 3/8 of an inch with a kitchen rolling pin. Then I use a dragon stamp made for leather working to make the dragon. Then I use a round cookie cutter to cut the circle and put it aside to dry a bit. After a few hours I scribe my handle and 2010 (this year) and allow it to dry all the way (or put them in the oven for a couple hours at 175 degrees). After they are completely dry I fire them in my kiln to make them into bisque. After they cool for 12 hours I paint them and then fire them again in the kiln to set the glaze. The whole process takes 3 days and I get about 60 each time. How much you charge me to come use your kiln? lol. I know you aren't far from me!
  8. LOL! I got my membership about a week or two ago, yea I've noticed there are definitely races, and you can tell by what area the cache is placed, who you will be racing..... Oh well, just something that annoyed me!
  9. I am using the Venture HC! I love it! Just make sure you get the HC model. I ordered mine off Amazon as well, and just so you know...the 10$ case with it, is WELL worth it! Should be listed under extras!
  10. Going to a FTF race, first one there....Three others show up for a 1/1 difficulty....Searching for an hour, just to give up...and the next night, the CO posts, oops, sorry guys I never placed it. Just to be beat out by a guy who would've been 5th to find. Then watching him gloat saying YAY! I was FTF! PLACE YOUR CACHES BEFORE THEY GO LIVE!
  11. Which is why they tell you not to hide caches under bridges and near public buildings....
  12. odd...I thought FTF stood for FIRST to find....If someone found it before me, I am not first am I?
  13. Gotta love people and their quickness to give a cache a 5 difficulty. What if you climb te tree and the cache is in your face? Whyrate it a 5 on the diff scale? Remember difficulty is the rating to how difficult the cache is to find at ground zero. I would say 4.5 as you have to use your hands to climb but not all will need special equipment.....Then rate difficulty as it should be
  14. That's Eagles, with a capital E. Oh sorry...sorry...LOL!
  15. So did you get super accurate GPS reception and extended battery life???

  17. oooohhh....Now we're into my area of expertise! I am currently -----> <------ Close to becoming a reserve police officer in Troutdale. I am VERY well trained in use of force/handgun laws, as well as trained very wel in the ability to enforce self defense, not only with a pistol, but with my hands as well. First off, if a gun scares you, You would be freaked with me. I carry much more than a hammer in my batbelt. Usually I have on me (at ALL TIMES) my kel tec p-11 9mm pistol, a quick shot of pepperspray, a sling baton, and a knife. There is a saying that if the only thing in your toolbelt is a hammer, all your problems begin to look like nails. If you ever run across me at a cache, I will have most of that on me any given time. Am I paranoid? Am I scared? Am I worried about mine and my families safety? HELL YES I AM! If you aren't worried about your safety, you ned to take another look around. Do a ride along with a police officer, where even in a small town there are rapes, murders, breaking and entering, assaults, ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE. You are not invincible, you can easily have someone come up to you and threaten you with a knife for your wallet because someone is having a hard time in this economy... Usually just pulling a gun will work. I have had to pull it once, If I did not pull it, I would have been hospitalized in the best case scenario. Get protection....GET TRAINING WITH THAT PROTECTION....and after you get the training get more training, then don't stop training. Take your safety seriously, you only get one shot at this life. --------------------------------------------------- As for the question. I usually cache alone 75% of the time. I don't know any serious cachers that can join me on Mondays for a fun day of caching.....Although I would LOVE to get together with some people.....I am forced to go alone!
  18. OH GOD NO! Raiders are my family rival! My brother got his raiders tattoo the same day.....They are my enemy...more hated than the eagles...lol
  19. Hey..You have to make sure ruby can handle the rigors of this sport....Who knows how many FTF races youll be part of!!! Well, I'm not too excited about FTFs, but I do take her on some pretty heinous roads that a Saturn was never meant to travel on! That car is pretty sure footed, believe it or not. Just not too much ground clearance. I love Saturn station wagons. Before this one, I had a 95' of the same car that I got 245,000 miles out of it before I sold it. I still see it driving around town. Gets 35mpg too... great for long cache runs!! Yea....I drive a 2wd nissan pickup with a GREAT canopy....perfect truck to get around in...GREAT mileage! It's an estacada truck all the way! Now if I can only get that Paris london (insert the other city which I forgot) estacada bumper sticker on it!
  20. I remember that topic. You must be one of the few people who have successfully had your username changed and lived to tell the tale. Yea...You gotta dodge the attempted hitman, and pay the website 14.3 billion dollars, but it's possible!

  22. I am making a run....Will want to pick up enough caches to put me at 199, I am at 105 now.....I will probably pick up 50 in the next two weeks, and was thinking about doing a run, sunday starting at about 12:00 and picking up as many as I can get until I hit 199....anyone with me? probably end up grabbin about 50 quick hits.....I normally like longer harder caches....but my buddy is doing a hike which has a cache I would love to make my milestone.....Any ridealongs? Throw in gas and go?
  23. HAHAHA I had already made the request after those suggestions came in!
  24. and I had my handle changed, I used to go by BrandonTidd!
  25. Well, keep an eye out for "pain in my wifes booty" I've only had one cacher find it without the hint that I email the DNF's or a bump in the right direction when I drive by....Right off hwy 211!
