SpotHunter

My name was my dad's name until i decided that i wanted my own name, so he said that i could use that as my own. SpotHunter is in two parts. The Spot part is from his company's name, and Hunter is kinda self explanatory (hunting for caches). I love looking at other people's names and trying to guess what they mean. It's fun to be able to have a name that expresses yourself is whatever way you want.

I'm really hoping to go this year. I had never heard of GW before a couple weeks ago, but it sounds amazing! My dad grew up in Seattle, so thats another reason we're hoping to go. It's too bad that I'd have to miss the first week of my summer camp next year if i go... Still, I REALLY want to go!

I just turned 13 but have been caching since 2001. I took over my dads account, but even with my own name, I don't cache nearly as much as I'd like to (only about 15 finds I think!) but now that one of my school friends (penguins4ever) has gotten into geocaching, we try to do more. I'm going to bring my GPS up to camp this year though, so I'm hoping that I can get some camp people interested. My camp does a lot of hiking, so I think they'll like this.

I usually say "It's a worldwide treasure hunt" and then go into A LOT of details, but i think i'm now going to use one of the ones from this blog. "I use mulit-billion dollar satalites to find tupperware in the woods" i like that a lot. LOL

The only time I have actually encountered someone who looked suspicious, the person happened to be another cacher. It was lucky that we ran into him, becasue it was our first time searching for a micro, so he showed us what it looked like, and where it was. Then, since it was a multi cache, we continued to find the second half of the cache together (along with my dad and my friend who are my caching partners). I've gotten some strage looks when it was only me and a friend (without my dad) but no one has actually come up to me. If someone did ask me, I would just tell them that i was Geocaching and then walk away.
