  1. Still waiting for mine but I'm sure I won't be disappointed
  2. As a geologist, I had to add my name to the list
  3. My opinion is to stay away from political figures and don't forget that iconic images are attached to very powerful copyrights and you would need his permission to use his image.
  4. How about placing a (large) pic of them on this thread?
  5. Thanks for the reply Marius. Let's keep in touch
  6. Having your own national geocoin is important to mark your position within the world geocaching community. You need a minimum of 250 to get your own personalised icon and with the ever growing geocaching community, whoever decides to mint the coins will certainly break even at the very least. For a first run, I suggest you study supliers, weigh all costs (minting - finishes, metal, colours, etc., quantities, personalised icons, shipping, possible import taxes, shipping to end buyers, etc) and possibly go for a smaller number of coins. After all 2007 is nearly finished and you can always increase production in the 2008 version. With South Africa being such a large country, you could also maybe try for regional coins: (And i'm guessing from here onwards) Cape Geocachers Association, Gauteng Geocahers Association (etc., etc.).
  7. Hi guys, Looking to trade a Lunchtime Gang geocoin for a south african geocoin. Anything like that available? If you are interested, contact me through my GC profile. Thanks. Details of the Lunchtime Gang geocoin as well as pics can be found here. Coins are available in Nickel, Gun and Gold.
  8. It all depends whether you're in it for the numbers or for the enjoyment. Rushing into anything always makes you careless and if you have to move through uneven terrain, or traveling fast through busy cities to get to ground zero..............I'll leave you to come to your own conclusions
  9. Olha que ele chama-lhe o "cachemobile". Não vá o rapaz ficar chateado por lhe chamares simplesmente....."carro"
  10. Adorable little turtle! Are these for sale or trade by chance? DITTO!
  11. For the last few days I have not been getting any notifications for the logs on my caches. Unfortunately, the one I was really hoping to see is an adoption notice for an earthcache. As a result the cache exists under the fictious owner's name and I can't get at the "edit listing" feature to insert all the images and make the page user-friendly
  12. Will trade for sure. let me know what you decide to do. ps. site has gone mad and has duplicated post.
  13. Would trade for sure. let me know what you decide to do.

  15. I like the last artwork a lot more. When do you expect any more details on prices, quantities, etc.?
  16. That is a nice rack! Well done. Mine just sit in a plastic tupperware in the cupboard. That way, if I decide to release them, then they're used to a tupperware home
  17. There are going to be some left for trading as a result of people who ordered but have not yet paid for their orders. If there is anyone out there who might want one and has a nice coin to trade, drop us a line. Thanks
  18. Here is a sneak preview of the finished results. The coins look beautiful but the photographer is not so good
  19. To all those who have patiently been waiting for their Lunchtime Gang geocoins, we are proud to announce that all orders have been posted via express mail. You should all be receiving them soon.
  20. A funny thing has happened with this coin. The manufacturing process has been delayed until the new year; in this case the Chinese new year, which happens on the 18th of February, because the factory has exceeded its pollution quotas for the year. Has anybody else had this sort of message coming from factories in the east?
  21. If I had a "real" job, I would do a little caching during lunch. The last time I had something like a "normal" job, I did some lunchtime caching, until I found or gave up on the close caches I know several cachers who cache during their lunch breaks. A lot depends upon where you work, I suppose. I know what you mean but I suppose it's easier in a large city with lots of nearby caches. Also, the easy access to any point is another plus.
