  1. Your 'Ignore List' is automatically created for you when you became a 'Premium Member'. As stated above, you can put caches on it 'one-by-one' as you visit the cache pages. You could filter out those caches using GSAK, but why waste the PQ space on caches you don't want to find? Once you have filtered for the caches owned by the particular owner, you can (if you are using GSAK 8, and who isn't) use the Geocaching API feature to put the caches on a bookmark list...in this case, your ignore list. Now that the caches are on your ignore list you can set your PQ parameters to not include them in any PQ you create. We should not have to jump through hoops(GSAK) to filter out power trails as unwanted. They should be a seperate type of cache, therefor easily filterable at the start. GS does not seem interested in this fix. "Power Trails" are turning our hobby(sport) into a numbers game.
  2. I agree. If they were a seperate type, they could easily be filtered out. First, you have to make the change. Then, we can discuss how to go back and fix all of the existing "Power trails" to comply. They are really hard to avoid!
  3. I agree that they should be a seperate type of cache. These "power caches" have changed geocaching into a numbers game. This is not geocaching! The fix is to make them a seperate type so that they can be screened out of a search. Likewise those number crunchers can screen out the real caches. I have seen logs of 20, 30, and 40,000 finds. One guy even has over 66,000! I feel good if I can find 10 in a day. 250 caches in 50 miles of road just seems weird! Plus, they obscure the real caches in the area.
