Yes, I understand that people do go to jail who were not necessarily guilty of the crime for which they were convicted. They get coerced into pleading guilty to avoid being found guilty of a more severe crime. It doesn't mean they are innocent though. There are hardly any TRUELY innocent people in jail innocent people do go to jail because they talk to cops... Not as true as you want it to be. Though it can (and has) happen, people who are not guilty of what they are charged with, go to jail. Innocent people, almost never. btw.. retarded... no... not cool.... Its been quite some time since I've watched it, but if memory serves me right, this one is a pretty good video and does a good job of explaining how a totally innocent person can entrap themselves without realizing it. Once again, it was a lecture of what to do if you are guilty of a crime. There was no instance where someone who wasn't guilty went to jail for talking to a police officer except the two retarded guys. 48 minutes of my life I will never get back. I watched the video. It was really clear that the narrator was offering ways to get away with illegal behavior (with the exception of the kid and the paint, which was questionable). The first scenario was a car with drugs being used (or so it appeared by the munchies references) and the police DID find drugs during the search. The third one was funny because they found about a pound of pot. So it was definately illegal. The innocent recap seemed to lean much less towards illegal activity. No matter what, there was an obvious slant towards how to get away with illegal activity. It wasn't about how to protect yourself while being a law abiding citizen. If you can get past the slant, there may have been a few good messages in there. It did give the message of "if you are doing something wrong, here is how you hide it" and not "If you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide". I think I will take the latter path and not the former. OK... that video was stupid... (but Valerie was kinda hot) No one is arguing that if you are doing nothing wrong then you should be honest... Funny you should ask. About a week ago during lunch I took a female co-worker geocaching for her first time. It was close to an Arbys but about a mile into the bush. We found it easy enough after lunch and then went back to the office. Everyone was staring at us oddly and kind of whispering for awhile. I finally asked what was up? turns out we both had leaves in our hair and she had grass stains on the butt of her pants. People thought we were doing something other than geocaching during our lunch break.

You really think that geocaching is that important when meth labs present a multitude of challenges? Trust me, knowing about geocaching is NOT high on the list of things to know when there is so much more out there that we deal with on a daily basis and need to be experts about. There are news feature stories every week about it, not to mention these bomb scares. Ten years of bomb scares caused by innocent geocaches, and so many LEOs that don't even have a clue of what it is? Ten years... one tenth of a century. I bought my wife a GPS two years ago so we could cache (based on a news story we both saw 3 years ago) Do the police not follow common news and what is going on in the world?(as the police like to say "ignorance of the law is no excuse") I do not expect the police to know all about geocaching.... but they do need to know of it... a 2 minute seminar wouldn't be to hard. It would also save a ton of money.

Why wouldn't they? I don't go around committing crimes, so on those occasions when I have an encounter with law enforcement, I have no qualms telling them exactly what I am doing. It just feels polite, to me. I like to approach the rest of the world sans shoulder mounted chips, and, to me, refusing to answer a polite inquiry, from anyone, including a LEO, just screams of bad attitude. In short... the cop was wrong and proven wrong after trying to cover his azz. Not all cops are stupid but some are. If even one cop is stupid then that is one too many. The problem with only one out of thousands of cops being wrong versus one average citizen being wrong is... an average citizen does not have the power to put me in cuffs, beat me and put me in jail. Cops have a job to do and I would like to think most do it well. But not all do. And those that don't should be removed by the ones that do and not hidden behind the thin blue line. I stand by my right to remain silent. "you have the right to remain silent, anything you say CAN AND WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU" Why would anyone say anything to the police? It is not my job to help them put me in jail. they get paid just fine to do that themselves. For the record, I have no record. Remember people... the police are paid servants to the taxpayer... not elected officials.

I like those but they are a tad expensive to risk getting muggled.
