  1. Bowen Creek Refugees Here's one from our Good Friday outing
  2. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LU...95-55ec62588372 Another Michigan view. Was out with the kids to the Old Baldy Cache. Lots of fun. Finding the cache was just gravy, the main attraction was being out with the kids. Keep the pics coming. I love 'em.
  3. My first (and only) is a a Garmin Nuvi 750, that my wife suggested I buy last year. Her thought was that we'd use it on vacations. I discovered geocaching while using internet search to figure out other uses for the thing. Of course it isn't the ultimate unit for geocaching, but it has taken the kids and me to some really nice spots we wouldn't have seen otherwise.
  4. Great story! Nothing that cool has happened to me or the daughter yet.
  5. +1 on Gitchee's impressions of in-car units, but that's what I use with reasonable success. You're spot-on regarding time spent with the family. The more I do this, the more I realize the importance of time with the kids.
  6. Good on all of you. Something similar to CITO started around these parts with the annual "Beach Sweep" which usually coincides with Earth Day. Now, as a matter of course, when we're wandering around the outdoors for whatever reason, we carry and encourage our kids to carry bags specifically for carting litter out for proper disposal. I think it does make a difference.
  7. Military intelligence: Never use one word when four will do.
  8. It could be that it is truly a MN/WI term, or that I'm just really new at this, but I'd never run across the term before. Ya learn sumthin' new every day, dontcha know....
  9. Your resolve makes you and inspiration and an example of how one should tackle adversity. Many happy returns of the hike to you
  10. That's hilarious! thanks for the best laugh I've had all day
  11. I'm still very much the newb when it comes to caching, but I've been tromping around the woods on skis and snowshoes for years. Frankly, winter caching sounds like a real grin to me. A good excuse to load up a pack with gorp and coffee and head out into the snow. Let's have at it!
  12. I'm with Nordicman. I'm using XP SP3 with Firefox ver. 3.0.14 with no problems so far.
  13. I found one today in a beautiful old cemetery near my home. Being as I'm a newbie, I found an easy one (1/1) and got it on my way home from work. As I mentioned in the log, I have great-grandparents buried there, and I saw no disrespect to the departed or their families in hiding a cache without disturbing monuments. I found it not at all inconsistent with visiting a couple family plots.
