  1. Do you have a particular private cemetery in mind? If so, please let me know and I'll contact them...you know, just to be sure.
  2. If you mean, is there a web site that lists only geocaches that can be reached by using such vehicles, I'd say that that is doubtful but these days you just never know. I'm quite certain that the quad riders in here will drop by and let you know if there are.
  3. Yeah same here. How many times have you been made sick from drinking out of the thing?
  4. Just ran one. Ran slow, but it did run. Perhaps there is some issue with scheduled queries.
  5. Not every game is well suited for every person.
  6. Moo-gels is my personal favorite.
  7. Just ran one. It ran but ran slowly.
  8. Can I ask what software program you use to log your stats? I think I'd like to try it. Is it free? http://www.mygeocachingprofile.com/
  9. What specific gps are you using? As a new user, not being able to input the published coordinates from the site is going to cause you much difficulty and frustration as you are seeing. Perhaps you could team with another local cacher in order to pick up on the basics.
  10. Yes. Yes, you CAN do that but unless you leave something of equal or greater value, you shouldn't. I am curious, what is the thought process that lead to those two questions?
  11. I already had this chat with the other dude above you. You're taking the term WAY TO LITERALLY. Use the widely accepted geocaching version of the term. Come on, you're an engineer, use that brain of yours. Why the nasty tone there, dragery? He clearly IS using his brain, to use the english language as it was intended -- not just reinvent it as it suits him, to fit whatever definition he chooses, as you have done here. You've been caching what, two months now? And you've had 4 run-ins with the law?! Granted, you're in a more populous area than I am, but in the nine months I've been caching I've never had even a glance from a passing representative of the law. Maybe I've just been lucky, but for you to say that "It's just part of the game we all play" is incorrect. And for some more perspective, I've been caching 4 and a half years mostly in Denver, which is a large urban area, and mostly all over Oregon and have had only one run-in with LEO and it was positive because the dispatcher for the sheriff is a geocacher... What was the nature and content of the dispatch that was communicated to the sheriff's deputy?
  12. You can, in lots of cases, mark the cave entrance coordinates and give instruction regarding how to enter the cave and where the cache is located inside the cave. From what I've seen, that isn't too difficult.
  13. I sure am glad that you posted this. Thanks.
  14. How does that work when you are in an area that you have never visited before? Ask some locals, if you know any. If not, I would suggest looking around the area and see if you notice any "Geocaching term - usual suspects" in the area before diving under the nearest bush. The park I was talking about that I asked about, when I drove by afterwards, I noticed a needle exchange box. That pretty much summed up what I had been told. I'd strongly advise that folks like you not cachealongaroute that is more than 10 miles distant from your place of residence. Thanks for all of the helpful hints.
  15. YES!!! YES!YES!YES!YES!YES! YESSSSSS! I wouldn't want or expect the checkbox, though. I'd simply want the scrollwheel disabled as a zooming device when the map is displayed on the cache page. Enable it only when on a full page map. I think that is a perfect solution. Hope the programmers will take it to heart. Have you already suggested this on the Feedback site? Was it good for him?
  16. Entertainment for the 'kiddies' would be my best guess.
  17. Or, "yet another urban cache to place on the ignore list." Pretending you're an undercover agent searching for a "secret stash," while dodging security = PRIVATE SECURITY GUARDS: Spoiling the fun of people Geocaching on private property without permission since 2005. Notice how I didn't say "since 2000". Yeah, I noticed that. Waaaaayyyyy cool.
  18. LOL Yeah that was really funny, thanks. When are you going back to that regular office building parking lot?
  19. How does that work when you are in an area that you have never visited before?
  20. I'm surprised that you never had this issue come up before you ever heard the word 'geocaching'.
  21. One way to look at that comment is that the experiment with virtual caches on Geocaching.com failed. If Waymarking is also a failure it may be that the whole idea of sharing GPS coordinates of "interesting" locations is not all that compelling anyhow. Geocachers at least have something they can find at the places they go to, whether or not these locations are interesting in and of themselves. I personally feel that within the Waymarking games department (now called multifarious) there is room for developing Waymarking categories that will feel more like virtual caches and could attract more visitors. But so long as geocachers let their prejudices against categories like McDonald's or Starbucks cloud their view of Waymarking, these categories are not getting developed. So, yes, Waymarking is a failure from the view of someone who wants more virtual caches; but the blame falls on the geocachers for not taking the opportunity to develop that site with games that do appeal to them. True to form, it is always the user(messenger), always.
