  1. I would be interested in 2.
  2. I go along with the "Out to sea" idea. The cache is virtual (that is if Geocacing.com will allow you to establish it) I would want to to "Bury" a lost TB, but not visit the cache as such.
  3. Each unto his own of course. I think this happens in all sports. I know of some guys who won't stoop so low as to play a "Cheap" golf course. Only the best for them As I mentioned, I personally have had a lot of fun with the Locationless. Some were easy...."Botannical garden", "My name", "radio KAOS" I had to do some research for "Vasco da Gama" . I agree some are really "DOFF" like the "Cell phone tower" & "Water Tower" but try and find an unusual "Post Box" or a "Mural" or a "Tank" (I know of 3 unclaimed)... .................now that will keep you looking for a long time. Anway, to all of you, enjoy your Geocaching !!!!
  4. I can put some stuff in as well !! Next time you are coming to Durban, let me know. I will make up a hamper (mainly Peugeot stuff of course) Please thank TB Hunter for his help getting Tufula to Durban.
  5. I am sitting here ....peeing in my pants.... who else but good old Afrikaans could invoke such humour. keep it up guys...we could start our own comedy series. Maar ek moet se, ek is bly om te sien dat ons ook in Suid Afrika so bietjie kan lag (with a bit of help from my German wife)
  6. Good day to all of you. I am contacting you from South Africa (Pinetown - KwaZulu Natal) Can any one help me with this cache http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=12627 I need my name (WHOSTOPS) W 94 67 867 I thought of using E 40 00 000 but ....... any one who could help with the W co-ords would great !!! cheers
  7. I should have posted this awhile ago. I wrote a letter the "Liesure Wheels" a few months ago, all about Geocaching. They printed my letter in the December edition & I won a Maglite Torch for my effort.
  8. Noddy - Durban N. Whostops - Pinetown
  9. As there are so few caches around, I would like to suggest that you also have a look at the Locationless (Reverse) caches. Now I know some of the purists will "poo poo" the idea.....but... (1) It is a way of getting your numbers up. (2) You will start looking around and noticing things in a different way. (3) There is no better way to get a conversation started, about geocaching, than by having your picture take in public while holding a GPS aloft !!!! I have had a lot of fun myself looking for new "Locationless" by reviewing other Geocacher's profiles and then going out to find them myself. If you need some ideas then have a look at my profile. Have Fun !!!!
  10. Please help. "Tufula" is stranded at "A Thorny Issue" http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=ca966fd2-844a-4b84-8aff-d55cae60b1c9 If any one is driving past, please pick him up & take him to civilization !! Many Thanks.
  11. Here is a url for my first cache :http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=358be3b0-5f15-490e-be9a-fb572cc676ea I entered the co-ords as (dd mm ss,ss) S 29 48 39.9 E 30 53 33.10 which in turn is also S29 48.665 E 030 53.552, but the UTM is 36J E 296331 N6700285. If I use use "GeoCalc" the dd mm ss ss and dd mm mm are both correct but the UTM is way out . How come

    Logbook

Thanks for the reply. I want to create a logbook to leave in the cache (instead of just an ordinary note book) but thanks for the suggestion for a my own archive !!!
  13. As a "Newbie" I need some guidance. South Africa is still quite new to Geocaching and as such there aren't many caches. Especially in the Durban area. there are no Micro-caches at all. what should I be looking for as a site, how do I hide, where do I hide, how do I make sure it doesn't fall out/get blown awayetc etc Please give me some basic guidelines. many thanks
