  1. I am short to begin with, not getting any younger either. Snagging a cache up high in a tree is more about numbers - dragging around the equipment to grab what you can see from the ground…. If I read that I need tott I drive right by… I prefer unique locations and-sneaky hides even if I can’t find them a cool location makes up for giving up on a cache..

  2. You could ask a non caching friend that you think might enjoy caching along.... it might start them on a great hobby and get you a new caching partner to boot. I cache mostly in the country and do not worry so much about

my safety in the country, I feel urban parks and suburban areas require much more caution in scouting the area for possible problems- of course if I get that creepy feeling (all us women know that one) I just skip the cache. I carry a phone, hiking staff, and of course a small pistol for rattlers... and know how to use all of them, just in case.

  3. I love cemetery caches...I do not mind them being close to the graves or markers... But

prefer placement to not be to much on the "belly crawl through the bushes type" due to

being respectfull... I think that as a cacher I might plan to have a cache in my monument

when Im gone that way I can keep caching after Im gone...and give others a interesting find!

  4. I use a mac (several macs) and the cable that came with my garmin worked fine.... although garmins software will not work on a mac but I bought another software and am very pleased I have gotten a free update via email about every 3 months and it works great.... What I miss is the ability to use my palm pda to read caches in e book format.... now thats a bummer.....and something I really used...

  5. Ive done the poker chip thing its ok but now I am using dog tags....

I have them with my sig line "its about the journey" and my geo name and state...

I really like them ... easy to carry and kinda a tag on the cache so to speak

  6. Im not much on micros in general and urban caches have less appeal to me

my motto is its about the journey so I look for caches in rural settings with

hiking or light climbing somewhere i usually havent been... I also like

historical caches if they are a little remote even in a urban setting but

you will never see me log anything from a parking lot...

  7. hey all got a new shipment of geo stickers.... i put them on ebay - keyword geocaching stickers

if you are interested i am unloading them 5 stickers for 5 bucks.... easy swag at a buck apiece...

they are same size even though pics arent.....

    check em out

  8. I think this is perfectly ok I carry dog tags that i leave in caches as a signature item... i intend the

cache owner to get them but sometimes people trade them out ..... but my intent is to leave them for the cache owner as a "I was here thanks thing" you idea isnt any different....its kinda nice as a cache owner

to get something from the visitors i think...

  9. hey i still have some geo stickers for swag listed on ebay...keyword geocaching sticker.

sold in lots of 5 for 5 dollars (sub title i screwed up to many letters- but they are 1 each sold in lots of 5)

2 designs to choose from..... take a look they are acually same size...

just different file sizes shown here

  10. easy the old person.....

set the gps up any body can read it in compass mode. i have fond memories of hunting with my

grandfather... he was always lost but it was a great time.... great stories.... i learned so much

from him wandering around the state.........

    after he passed

hunting wasnt fun anymore it was his company that put the fun in it.... now i geo cache

and he would have loved this game....

  11. heres a question for you all where do you get your favorite swag items....

and what would that item be....for me my most popular swag item

is geocaching bumper stickers that i design and have made up.... the downside

is i always have more than i need...so i sell the rest on ebay.... but it is a popular

swag item... the other item i like to give is carabiner key chains that i get at

the local hardware...but i think everybody has 2 or 3 of these.....give me

    your favs.

  12. As I type my iches are a driving me nuts..... I have been around the stuff for years and years

and i finally ran out of luck....... if you are the cache hider --- dont spray --- just place the cache

in a spot where the stuff isnt.... now this is hard in winter because you cant always tell where it

is..... the idea is to get people to your cache.... I avoid caches where there is pi but this last time

out I didnt see it...but if your cache takes exposing to much to pi Ill pass it up and i am sure

others would too... so be carefull on your placement.... (scratch, scratch)

  13. Doc , PA and Primary Im glad you like them..... When I place them in caches they are usually gone

after the next visitor.... I will be working on some others soon.. I think the dollar apiece thing is a

good deal... anyway I am just trying to cover my cost for putting them in caches anyway..... we all

have to pay for our cache habit....huh
