  1. Awesome coins! I had to order some! Thanks!
  2. I would like one of each please.
  3. Oh how I LOVE that song!! And, it's the LONG version!
  4. A quick note, also check the pictures of some of your TB's. They are usually wonderful and so cool out in the world! But, many times the tracking number may not be in the log, but can be clearly seen in the photo!
  5. 9 of 9 missing? That's sad. If you aren't having fun with them, you're doing the right thing by not releasing any more.
  6. At first I would be hurt and offended that folks would hold or lose my TB's. I just learned to move on my buying more TB tags and attaching nothing of sentimental value to them, and release them. My solution, keep Groundspeak afloat by buying more TB tags!!
  7. TB hoarding is not just reserved for the Jeep TB's. There are cachers in other states that go around, grab TB's, then don't release them again, or "lose" them. It's not any different. I get one Jeep each year, I drop and grab it a few (or more) times, then either let it go or trade someone for theirs. And, I'll discover a few here and there of other cachers at events, etc. After getting flamed on this board for holding onto one or two, I decided to let them go and let others get flamed for it. (harassment?) Besides, they weigh down my TB bag. So, when I've dropped them, I usually tell them good luck and walk away.
  8. Snoogans, I would love to send you a TB to attach! I think it's a great idea, and for this TB it wouldn't be about the miles. What if one of its goals is to have a photo taken of it at the event that it's at, with either the TB holder or a group of cachers standing around it? It would be so cool to see pictures of all the folks who regularly "discover" my TB's at events. Count me in! (now to find an unactivated TB tag)
  9. I have from time to time "cleaned out" our TB Hotel and will watch the TB's that I didn't find in there. I will email the last person who may have been there to see if they saw a TB, then give it a week, or two, and then list a TB as missing from the cache. I'll usually either send a message to the owner, or post a note on the TB page. It's always curious to me, that folks don't answer the emails, or say thanks. But........ And, when I get a note about one of our TB's not in a cache, I'll usually go to the cache page, and see how long others have logged it as missing, and will try to save the cache owner the trouble, and mark my own TB as missing (to an unknown location). I'm always pleasantly surprised when a TB returns to the game!!
  10. Or, let it travel as is without something attached. I have found a few TB tags with nothing to attach. They are easier to drop in a small container like a decon container or altoids tin. In some ways it can help you tag do more traveling. But again, it's really up to you.
  11. I do this all the time. There is a virtual cache inside Disneyland, and I do take TB's there on tour from time to time and log them through that virtual cache, then go back and delete my log. It makes sense because how can a virtual cache hold any travel bugs? It can't. Deleting TB or coin drop logs makes it easier for those who need the hints from the previous 5 finders to help locate any anomalies about the hide, like better coords, or watch out for bees, or something else. Shorter answer - it's cleaner.
  12. It's always about the journey! Just have fun!
  13. Last year, if I'm not mistaken, the reason why Alaska and Hawai'i are unable to play is due to the contest rules of your states and is out of the hands of Jeep and Groundspeak. Once the contest is over, the jeeps may travel anywhere. Again, someone else may be able to speak more to this point than I can. But this topic came up quite a lot last year.
  14. TB and geocoin owners love it when their travelers travel. If you can help them on their mission, or down the road, or to the next town, go for it.
  15. Perhaps it makes them more collectable?
  16. I usually dip in and out of the closest cache toh ome that I own. Then immediately grab back. This works best if you have a disabled/archived cache otherwise if you don't grab them all back immediately, some local cachers will think that they are in the cache and run out to retrieve them, especially since they are coins.
  17. Sometimes moving a TB to a TB Hotel increases the chance that your TB may get closer. Having said that, I have a TB that wants to go to Australia, launched it here in Southern California, and it hitched a ride to Europe. It's okay with me. When you send a TB into the wild, you have to be prepared for your TB to have a journey. The journey is the fun part, even if it's only moved 0.1 mile at a time. I also ask that cachers post photos of the TB's travels. I've seen some in pretty funny predicaments! Just have fun with it!
  18. One of the things I have done in the past is to email all the cachers that visited your cache since the last bug drop. If there are only 2 or 3, then it's not a lot of work. Go to their profile and send them a friendly email. I've had some interesting emails from newbies in the last month who didn't realize the difference between grabbing and retrieving. Most are very excited to make contact with another cacher (sometimes we are major loners) and so they have fun exchanging questions and answers. Good luck.
  19. Awesome news! It will give us another new pretty icon too!
  20. Oh yes this is perfectly acceptable! Like BlueDeuce said, on your next visit, choose the Write Note option instead of Found It. THis is most wonderful for TB Hotels around the world so that the TB's can move frequently. We had a TB Hotel that was visted every other week by a couple who were dropping off and picking up coins. They came quite a lot. So for owners of TB Hotels, they love it if you are going on a trip to come an take the bugs far and wide, and when you come home with TB's from your travels, go and drop them off there too! Welcome to geocaching and the international world of travel bugs. It's just too much fun!
  21. Your dog is simply adorable! And TB owners LOVE it when photos are posted of their TB's. Great job!
  22. Just a gentle reminder to not attach anything of serious sentimental value to a TB tag. With over 400 out in the world, we have had many, many "lost" or go MIA. But don't be too worried about newbies. Sometimes what they do is unintentional, and they may very well have dropped it off in a cache and didn't know how to log the drop. We've had a couple TB's come back into play that have been logged improperly or not logged at all. It IS possible for them to begin to travel again.
  23. Well I think it's a very nice looking coin and can hardly wait to see the final product! I sent in my pre-order!
  24. I had this issue with yahoo last year and switched to gmail. If gmail is beginning to do the same thing, I'll be really annoyed.....
