  1. Not having done either of the potentials, I will take a guess. The town is Graff Reinett, so its either Ribbokberg Dam View or Janpe's 60. I'm going with Janpe's 60, http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=c25cd95d-bf75-472a-a120-c4af71b66cf8
  2. Correct! A really nice Hogsback Cache for anyone who is in the area. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=1b18c682-407d-4012-ac52-5b940f5a1126&log=y&decrypt=
  3. But it IS really important. Isn't it? no it isn't!
  4. This is the only issue I could think of. I've recently downloaded GSAK and don't know it well, would a cacher "lose" an FTF in GSAK if they logged it 2nd? Personally I'm not too worried, I manage my FTF's with a bookmark list, pretty sure anyone else could do the same. GSAK has an FTF column. You First To Find a cache, you manually mark it in GSAK as FTF. Doesn't matter how many log it before you log, it's shows in GSAK stats as your FTF Thanks, that answers that question. Seems this whole thing has just happened because someone got touchy over a non-issue. There is allot of that in this game. Now lets wait for someone to tell us its really important...

  7. We can start that practice on Sunday. For two of us that is There's also a cache at the overnight hut on the Alexandria trail...
  8. Woop woop! Now to get some practice in....!
  9. John & I (Tara) are keen. Count us in
  10. Nope, but you're applying the logic correctly.
  11. Thanks Wazat. Having not done too many caches, our pic collection is a bit limited. Try this one out Seems people are struggling a bit (or forgotten about it). There are a few clues in the pic that should help you narrow this one down. I'm wearing a backpack, so its not a 5 minute walk. I'll tell more if no one can get it...
  12. Some people use the verb "mafik" as in to celebrate. This was because of the celebration of the lifting of the siege of Mafikeng, which is not in the WC and is not all that unflattering. Its just interesting I don't know if any of you listen to the quiz questions on Cape Talk in the afternoon but this afternoon someone called Ben combined this question and answer and the answer that @Tara and John gave to ask John Maytham which two ZA towns names have become verbs in the English language. Well, Ben stumped him and John went off and confirmed that both answers are correct! Well done Ben! (if he read it here) I'm still waiting for one of these to pop up in our local pub quiz, so that I can amaze the "crowd"
  13. If I search in JHB it gives me two challenges, neither of which are found yet. Link to the JHB one you are refering to please?
  14. I agree with that 100% This was also my impression, but we were going to a place that we have been to many times before and even logged a geocache here. I assume you've been to the Newlands Spring before? This might be a bit more fun, I'm interested to see what you think after doing something new
  15. Well that wasn't our intention, but if true that would be nice! We were going along the road for another reason and just decided to stop.
  16. Not Swallow Tail Falls Nor (Two) Waters Meeting Nature Reserve
  17. Thanks Wazat. Having not done too many caches, our pic collection is a bit limited. Try this one out Wild Guess - GC264EY Sam Knott Viewpoint?? Nope. (phew - at least my first pic didn't get taken on the first guess!)
  18. Thanks Wazat. Having not done too many caches, our pic collection is a bit limited. Try this one out
  19. So with a bit of internet detective work, a waymark of yours called "The Senekal Farmer" http://www.Waymarking.com/waymarks/WM8JBE_The_Senekal_Farmer
  20. Besem left us two really funny logs recently: Brave or Stupid and Glowing Gravestone Thanks for the chuckle!

  22. A milestone day yesterday besem got his 1600th and Tara and John cracked 150
  23. Oh no! This is sad news indeed! I agree with all the sentiments expressed above that whoever is chosen to replace you will have massive shoes to fill! Thank you so much for all you help. You were always very clear and patient when dealing with me and all my newbie questions. All the very best for your future plans! (I hope that you will still be caching? I have yet to get up to Nelspruit...!)
  24. No I'm sorry, it is not that easy. If it were that easy I would not have spent three days trying to get it sorted out!! And now, I've hit ANOTHER snag. I know it is possible to have mapsource unlocked on more than one computer. I have read on the Garmap forums how to do it (http://www.garmap.co.za/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2941&PN=1), followed their step-by-step (http://www.garmap.co.za/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3381&PN=1), and yet it still doesn't frikking work!! The only option it give me to unlock the maps is to 'Unlock Online'. Which tells me that I've already used that serial number/unlock key and won't let me finish unlocking the maps I JUST BOUGHT onto a second computer. I have seriously had it with Garmin and their bloody software. Edit: Righjt, I have got it working. But still. SO NOT IMPRESSED!!! Gift horse, mouth...no comment.
