Back to the topic....
Crocodile/crocodylus?
Nope, only the first 6 letters of those are identical.
-
I'll leave this one for someone else. Not forever though...
-
Manley Flats then?
There we go, finally one settles in the fielder's hands. Take it away cincol.
-
Would it be 7 Fountains perhaps?
And another one goes down, batsmen on top today!
-
Taking a chance here. Salem Cricket field?
The chance is dropped Not Salem...
-
coccyx?
Seems to have been a misunderstanding, vertebrate (animal with a backbone), not vertebra (bone in the backbone).
-
Well done, the floor is yours, Tara and John
I'm struggling for a question, so I'll go with this.
What vertebrate has the exact same common name and scientific name?
-
Aw, just got excited there for a minute!
Here's a pic taken of the "Old Wagon Bridge" (GC10T5J) going over the Orange River - you can see why I thought this was it!
The road across is also gravel and narrow with a similar barrier on the sides.. I took a pic of our car crossing the bridge, which looks almost exactly like the last hint you gave - but I don't have the picture set with me to post now..
Well, I gave it a go - looks like you've stumped us all..
The surrounding bush is pretty simlar, but this was Picket Bridge (GC207HP), on the Fish River. I can see why you thought it was the same, right down to the farm house on the other side of the river! I guess it might have been a bit too obscure.
Here is another one, hopefully easier:

Ah wait a minute... now this looks like recently archived cache, Old Wagon Bridge??
I climbed right up there - with lots of effort! Definitely the most memorable DNF I logged ever!
No, this cache is still active and after a quick check, no DNF from Team Ginger either
-
Looks like the Kowie River.
Looks can be deceiving
A clue
One last pic, No guesses by Monday and I will put a new one up.

A quickie to get going again
A Dozen, a Gross and a Score,
plus three times the square root of four,
divided by seven,
plus five times eleven,
equals ...... squared and not a bit more.
Nine. Oddly, I remembered the term Lordosis but couldn't place it. This one is a bit easier

Pretoria?
Ok, you're probably right then - the weather people's head office is in Pretoria, in the municipality named "City of Tshwane"...
Well CH got there first, but Jors got the correct name. Hmmm. I think it must go to Jors for getting the technicality right, take it away.
-
The Overberg?
One would think so, but thats not it.
-
All yours Tara and John.
Which municipality in SA is the furthest South?
-
A quick and easy one: Who plays the part of Murdock in the A-Team movie?
Sharlto Copley?
-
Wow! Lucky guess.
OK what is the common name for: "The Town of Our Lady the Queen of the Angels of the Porciúncula River"?
Beunos Aires?

Looks like the Kowie River.

Thought you guys would get this one! All yours.
The church at 'The Cockroft-Bailey Connection' I remember clearly as Gavin almost stoon on a puffadder on the lawn there!
It took us a while to collect the clues, and I can believe that there would be puffies in the darker corners of that church yard.
How about this one:
-
What cache is this?
Tsitsikamma Zebra Stripes (GC2AA0B)?
-
Could it be 'The Bailey Connection'?
Close enough, The Cockroft-Bailey Connection, GC183EV
Well done CnC, take it away.
-
No guesses yet, so have a clue:
-
Check this out: Earthcache requiring a lick
Make sure you do that one early in the morning, to be the first cacher on site!
Back on topic
Excuse the "Mo", but its appropriate given that we are now in Movember
-
This is such a funny idea...! Thanks for brightening-up what has been a very dull forum lately. Scary to think what else you might have licked... Now I have to expand on my caching notes with "Please don't lick this cache!"....
It tastes dusty, in case you were wondering

Too early for hints I think. The original question (when I was asked it) said animal, so narrowing it down to vertebrate is already a hint
But I'm an Entomologist, I stopped studying fish more than 8 years ago
