  1. Nope EDIT: Tendulkar's highest test score is 248*
  2. Thanks CH. Seven people have been out for 199 in a test match, and two not out on 199 when they ran out of partners, but who is the only person who was out for 299?
  3. First one sunk by a South African warship?
  4. Hi Anne That's great! I'm not sure what to suggest in terms of meeting up. I arrive on Saturday 23rd and have a more or less free day that day. Can you suggest something? Tara
  5. Thought it would be rude to guess on that one
  6. Norway also used the Dannebrog from 1536 to 1814, but they now have their own flag.
  7. I was sure CH was going to play Scandanavian Battleships and get there first, but no, cincol got it right. Denmark has used the Dannebrog since 1219.
  8. Not the Flag of St George. Not Norway either.
  9. ......probably over the weekend ...... Rugby player? Yep - Syd de Melcker was a Springbok who toured with Paul Roos to the UK on the tour where the name "Springboks" was first used. He later married Daisy and was her husband at the time of her conviction and execution. He always believed in her innocence. It was a few years after her death that a gramophone from here estate was sold on an auction. The new owner took it in for a repair a while later and inside a white envelope containing poison powder (Daisy's preferred method) was discovered. On the outside of the envelope was written "For my dear Syd." All yours. Hmm, a conspiracy... Easy one (hopefully): Which country has the oldest flag still in use?
  10. ......probably over the weekend ...... Rugby player?
  11. Thats the one, all yours.
  12. I can vouch for the wind without looking at the flags! I'll get a pic up ASAP, just realised I have none with my at work, so I'll find some at home. Try this one I think this ones called DNF cache I think a few people call it that!

  15. Looks a bit like this one, even down to the angle of the sun. Which would be Wind power, GC2B62N.
  16. Hi Everyone One half of the team Tara and John (i.e. Tara) will be visiting Copenhagen and Aarhus in June/July 2012. I'll be bringing along some trackables from South Africa that want to see the world. Are there an cachers in the area that would like to meet up and swop some trackables? I'm more than happy to take trackables back to South Africa with me. I won't have time to do much caching, but I will have time for a cup of coffee or two. I'll be staying at a hotel near Nyhaven from the 18th - 21st of June and then at the Business Conference Centre in southern Aarhus from the 23rd June to the 6th of July. Leave a message if you'd like to meet up?
  17. Nope! Probably would have been my first guess until I discovered the fact! ;-) If I remember from a pub quiz "blindingly obscure" correctly, Nepal's low point is either 77m amsl or 113m amsl. Of course I could be mistaken, as the blindingly obscure question happens late in the evening. Can I be cheeky and ask if Tibet counts as a country in this case? My guess is Mongolia. Based on nothing in particular.
  18. I had a feeling CH would do the hard work before someone snuck in and got the answer. It was Andorra. Andorra (with its 10 part time soldiers) declared war on Germany during WW I, but never got invited to peace negotiations and so never signed the treaty of Versailles. When WW II rolled round they decided they would be neutral, which neither the Allies or Axis seemed too worried about. All yours cincol.
  19. Further West than both of those. Monaco was included in the treaty of Versailles, so their involvemnet in WW I stopped then, adn San Marino was officially neutral during WW I.
  20. Germany only declared war on Portugal in 1916. Not that far West.
