  1. Still having problems here! Windows 7, Chrome
  2. I've had two run-ins with police while geocaching. I'm twenty, and I usually geocache with a group of friends around my age. A bunch of teenagers/young adults snooping about is bound to look suspicious to any police officer, so I'm not really surprised that we've gotten stopped. Each time I just explained what geocaching is, maybe showed then the cache and logbook if we found it, and they let us be. There was one occasion, however, where a mall cop came back after we left and took the cache. It was a P&G under a lamp skirt, and thankfully the CO replaced it within a few days. Made sure to note in my log that the muggle was probably the officer we had talked to. Oh well, what can you do.
  3. Whoa, was wondering why the first page was all "guests". Then I realized that there was a necro-post - apparently a few times too. I'm curious to read Seeker's story as well. Do share.
  4. I collect pins, so I always enjoy coming across them in caches. As for what I leave, I don't have a signature item yet, but I have plenty of goodies from my childhood that I can leave.
  5. Obviously not in the UK. (see my post above, where I quote the UK reviewer) Or are the rules guidelines rules different in different locations? iirc she was talking about placing Munzees, not geocaches with Munzee in the name.
  6. There are numerous, numerous caches in the Cincinnati area that involve tree climbing. I, myself, have only attempted two of them - successfully I might add. Here are some of them. GC2C16H GC1M0G3 GC25WQT GC1J34N GC22MWZ Just to name a few.
  7. Evidently Groundspeak is taking a 'not welcome here' stance on Munzees, banning that name in cache listings! http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=278691&view=findpost&p=4786588 Hmm, well that's a buzzkill. Although it sounds like more of a copyright/competition problem than a "we don't like this idea" one. I wouldn't mind Groundspeak coming up with something similar of their own and implementing that as a new cache "container" type. Don't know what kind of strangleholds Munzee has on the idea.
  8. That's not to say that Groundspeak couldn't modify the idea so that you could write some sort of log. As mentioned before, simply laminating the QR code would solve the water damage problem. Has anyone make a feedback topic on this yet? I'd use a few votes on it.
  9. I really like this idea. Wouldn't be opposed to seeing something like this implemented.
  10. Hamilton county See some familiar names here.
  11. Only one that I've found on a telephone pole was a tube hanging from a hook about 8ft. or so off the ground.
  12. When it comes to geotrash, for me it all depends on the location. If the location is somewhere that should be respected (such as the cemetery in this case), geotrash isn't appropriate and the cache should be removed or replaced. If the location is a parking lot and the CO didn't want to place a generic lamp post cache, I'm perfectly fine with geotrash.
  13. Yeah, I saw that as well and was wondering the same thing.
