I live in Mallorca and am new to GeoCaching - however I have now got bitten. I am a little disappointed to observe however that nearly every Cache that I find here just contains a plethora of junk and worthless items. Judging by the list of start items that some cachers publish, the contents have been steadily depleted. This is borne out by more experienced cacher friends of mine who tell me that within 4 or 5 finds - everything in their caches is taken and replaced by used bus tickets, balloons, hair-grips, Ikea pencils, etc. Yes, I know that the object of GeoCaching is the enjoyment of looking for the cache - not the "treasure" within the cache - however what disturbs and disappoints me is that GeoCachers here are simply not observing the GeoCaching code of replace with like or greater value. I have declined to take anything from any of the caches I have found, but in many instances have left an item or two. My friends now refuse to leave cache boxes and simply leave micros - it would be a shame if the whole thing was relegated to this level. Is this a common problem in other areas?

Do you have a Mac or Windows? I have a Mac and I use GPSBabel+. It is very easy, use select the file under input options and select Garmin GPS with USB under input options. Thanks I use a Mac - so I will give GPS Babel a try. Many thanks.

Can somebody tell me how I can get Pocket queries from GeoCaching.com in the form of gpx files into my Garmin Map60CSx. The Garmin manual is pretty useless - one paragraph attached to the GeoCaching function - and no mention of how to download gpx files of local caches. Thanks

Go home, and enter those coordinates in the hide and seek a cache form Latitude Longitude boxes. If you put your proposed cache coordinates into the Lat, Long boxes it will bring up a list of the 20 nearest caches. Now check for proximity issues. Your new cache must be at least .1 miles, 161 m, from the physical components of any existing cache. You will see only the public coordinates for those caches! There may be hidden multi-cache stages or puzzle solutions as well. Generally a puzzle solution will be within 2 miles of its "bogus" coordinates, and most multi-caches will start and finish in the same park or general area. Thanks for your help

Which is recommended procedure? 1 Hide a cache - the send off the details for approval and registration, or 2 Choose a site - take Lat,Long and go back home (with cache) and apply for apprval and registration. I assume that the first is correct - but this means that you cannot put the number of the cache on the box. It also means that if the cache is not approved - you have to go back and retrieve it. Any guidance, and recommendations welcome.

I hid a cache 5 days ago, and immediately sent details to register it. But I have had no confirmation or response that the registration is in process - how long does it normally take? The following description shows in my profile regarding my submission: * This cache has not been reviewed yet. Once it is published, it will be listed on the site. Check the logs to see if the reviewers have left a note for this listing. * The reviewers will not see this listing until you activate it. * This cache is temporarily unavailable. Read the logs below to read the status for this cache. It says read the logs (which logs - there aren't any! - I'm confused!!) Can anyone comment.

Does anybody have any experience in using one of the Fortrex models? I know they dont have maps and bells and whistles - but opinions and advice would be welcome.
