Thanks everybody for your replies I don't have a full itenery at the moment but part of the tour will include Stellenbosch and the wine route and a stay at the start and finish of the trip in Cape Town.
Hopefully in the coming months I'll have more of an idea of were the tour will visit.
Regards
Steve

Hi Guys,
I'll be going to Cape town this winter with a guided tour group. Our first hotel is the holiday Inn I'm wondering if you could tell me of a few easy caches nearby as I won't have much time to cache but would like to get South Africa on my map.
Also is there any do's and don't while there

QUOTE(rutson @ Mar 9 2007, 11:27 AM) List as I THINK it should be now...
Also not on the list are those that've offered to do more than one county.
England filling up nicely, looking a bit quiet across the Irish sea tho :-(
I'll step in for "Windsockerland"
which covers Co Dublin, Co Louth, Co Meath
just bumping my response to an earlier post

Here we go again
Go spend some money on more servers
Throwing more servers into it may make the problem worse in the long term. There may be scalability issues. Also, the Windows overheads are quite high...
Oh, and I'll add, none of the Groundspeak people read here, it would be more useful go and vent your frustration in the main forums with all the others.
Well said Edgey - it seems to be the same old people complaining in here week after week...
Do what I do - lighten up a ittle, shrug your shoulders and go do something else for a few hours!!
After all - surely MOST people have a live other than caching?

County Fingal, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, and South Dublin replaced the now non-existent County Dublin
Similarly, County Tipperary North and South Tipperary.
I actually did read somewhere about the change to County Dublin. I thought I'd get away with leaving it anyway, but you caught me in the act
My reasoning for leaving just "Dublin" was that "Fingal, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, and South Dublin" is a very long string (i'ts just one county that has changes name, right, or are this 3 separate counties now? If it's still just one county, do you, as an Irishman (It's you who will have to work with it) think that this long string is workable? Will you really be looking for this county name and start typing "Fin..." in the ropdown box when you're placed/want to look for a cache in Dublin?
About Tipperary, are they 2 different counties now or is this (also?) just a name change of 1 single county?
On a personal note (I've lived in Dublin myself a couple of years), what happened to North Dublin? Is that part of Wexford now?? (Or maybe it's Fingal, which I'm afraid doesn't ring a bell with me.)
I'd leave Dublin for now as you say its a long string and not many people will be aware of the division
Tipperary is now two countys its even shown on the vehicle registration plates now
North Dublin "Wexford" with Wexford prices we wish it was
It's Fingal and were I'm from

The Island of Ireland
<snip>
All these counties are already in the updated spreadsheet. The ones referring to the republic as part of Ireland, the other ones as part of the UK (it would be great if the Island of Ireland had a political status, but we can't go into politics here:)
There's a change to the County Dublin you have on your list:
**** Denotes changes made to County Dublin
County Fingal, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, and South Dublin replaced the now non-existent County Dublin, which was effectively abolished when the Local Government Act 2001 (Section 10) was enacted
Similarly, County Tipperary has been replaced in legislation with North and South Tipperary.

As it appears from his statement that geoaware [the Earth Cache Master] considers Counties eligible for qualification. I'd hazard a guess that he considers NI as a separate country, probably giving you 6 qualifying counties [as long as there is a Earth Cache in them ].
I can contact him for conformation of this, but would not receive a reply until mid January as he has gone back home to celebrate Christmas in the sun [he's an Aussie working in the US ]
Thanks for that D

What about Northern Ireland ?*thinks*
Did someone say England and Scotland are classed as two seperate countries for this?
The last time I looked the whole of the UK was classed as one country, I did write via e-mail how interesting it would be to try and explain to 60,000 Scots at Hampden Park that Scotland and England are actually one country but I never got a reply, maybe they'd tried it out!
Ok folks using my connections I've got official clarification from the Earth Cache Master over the position of Wales, Scotland and England as separate country's for Earth Cache Master Pins
I treat them as three different countries/states....as they should be (but then I am Australian and have fond ties to the 'mother countries")So if you've found earth caches in 2 of the 3 you've qualified for a Bronze Pin
