  1. I have recently solved a bunch of puzzles for caches that a specific cacher owns. Now that I have all of the solutions, I want to go out and find the caches. I was wondering if there is a way to map out all the points on a map before I go so that I can have an idea on where to drive from one cache to another? I have a garmin 60Csx. Thanks!
  2. Hello all! I'm ItisTrue and I live in the Roseville, CA area. I am looking for people to do some day runs (Find as many as possible in a day). Anyone interested visit my profile and message me! Thanks!

  4. How do you Upload GPX files to a Pocket PC? (Dell Axim x5) I've downloaded GPXview to my Pocket PC and GSAK to my home computer. How do I get the full cache pages to be sent to my Pocket PC? Thanks!
  5. I'm 23. Are most geocachers older rather than younger?
  6. I can't believe that someone would write a report saying that! I left a comment on the article under "Nathan Geocacher"
  7. You would be wrong. My wife is a fan of urban hides, and in her shadow, I've located gobs of these. They can make awesome hides. The ones whose threads get crossed, (leading to soaked logs), are the generic, $1 a piece Ebay variety. The ones whose snap-ring rusts off in short order are the generic, $1 a piece Ebay variety. The ones whose O-rings fail within a week, (as you mentioned), are the generic, $1 a piece Ebay variety. I learned long ago that you get what you pay for. Most folks who buy crappy containers do so because they don't realize they are crap. Educating folks regarding what containers are crap, and why they are crap, has nothing to do with snobbery. I believe that you are overstating the negatives for dramatic effect, or perhaps to make your argument appear stronger. I have found a number of micros which used the inexpensive aluminum knockoffs. I can't remember a wet log being in any of them. Further, I have one of these on my keychain. Try as I may, I cannot get it to cross thread as it uses fairly large threads. I suppose that it could be done if I used tools and forced it. These items don't use snap-rings anywhere on them, so I don't know what problems you are having there. They do use split rings (like tiny key rings). I haven't experienced a problem with these, but if someone was concerned about them, he/she could upgrade them to brass ones at the same time as they swap the o-ring for just a few cents. (A pack of 25 brass ones costs about $1.50.) Did you mean the split rings cost $1.50 for 25? Or the whole container costs $1.50 for 25?
  8. We're getting out the Bison capsule selling business. Talk to Sissy. She might cut you a little break if you buy a bunch. (No guarantees.) How would I get in contact with her? And what do you think the best deal would be?
  9. What is the cheapest place to buy bison tubes? And if I buy bulk, where is the cheapest place? Any under $1 per tube? or 50 cents even? I'm cheap I know

  11. I want to know if anyone goes caching when it's raining? And do you prefer going when it's raining? What about other weather conditions? (snow, hail, storm, tornado, earthquake.. etc.)
  12. Has anyone cut the top off of a stump before? If so, how is it done? I am planning on making a cache where the top of a hollowed out stump opens with a hinge and a cache is placed inside. I want the cut to be straight and flush so that it is hard to tell it was cut. Any help would be great! Thanks
  13. Yup. That's me. Just your everyday idiot. Could be your lack of DNFs led me to believe that you hadn't searched for it? How "ignorant" does someone have to be to believe that posting a DNF is taking a mark of shame? Did you look for it? Supposedly you did. Did you find it? Supposedly you did not. Sounds like a "Did Not Find" to me. Is this really that hard to comprehend?... No it isn't. And I'd appreciate it if you would stop trying to insult me. Did I offend you in any way? If so, I apologize. If you keep up the "smack" talk I will report you. Do you comprehend this?
  14. Wow.... Did you not read my earlier post? And are you that ignorant that you would assume I had not looked for the cache? Check your facts buddy before you spew your venom at someone. I live like 2 minutes from GZ and I DID look. Maybe you should do some looking at earlier posts?
  15. ya So what you are saying is that if I wanted to do a letterbox cache that said for instance "walk north 50 paces" I would be better off with a traditional hand held compass?
  16. Do you have problems with your Garmin 60CSX compass? My compass always seems to be pointing in a direction other than where the cache is... is that normal?
  17. First off... Thanks to everyone who posted their opinions on this inquiry. As a relatively new cacher, I still have a lot to learn about this sport. Second... I am shocked by how mad some people can get by asking a simple question. I, in no way, meant to offend anyone by asking my question. Third... I did look for this cache a few times and I am sorry for not posting a DNF. I thought by posting a DNF I was taking a mark of shame. I understand now that it is important for the Geocaching community to post DNFs so that other cachers, and cache owners, can be made aware. Fourth.. I posted a Needs Archived Log because, in my understanding, (and with my previous visits to GZ) a difficulty 1/ terrain 1 cache should be easy to find. I posted a Needs Maintenance Log because I thought the cache owner should check on GZ. (There are nasty spiders there) I also sent a private message to the cache owner. When I received no response, I wanted to alert the reviewer of the cache. (I thought that was the responsible thing to do) After a few weeks of no response from the cache owner or the reviewer I wanted to alert someone at GC.com so I posted my question in this forum to direct attention to the cache.
  18. GCY9MX The above cache has had a needs archived tag on it for almost 2 months. The cache owner refuses to answer email or check on the cache. What should be done in this circumstance? Thank you
  19. My prediction for when the active cache count reaches 1,000,000 is February 2, 2010. I did some deductive reasoning to figure this out. I bet you my guess is within a week of the historic date.
  20. As many of you know the active cache list, on Geocaching.com, has just hit 950,000 active caches around the world. The sport of Geocaching has provided many with endless hours of fun with the ever-increasing amount of caches that are available. Within the next few months the active cache list is predicted to reach 1,000,000 active caches around the world and this historic occurrence, I believe, should be celebrated. The questions are: 1) How should Geocaching celebrate it's 1,000,000th active cache? 2) How should the members of Geocaching.com help in celebrating the 1,000,000th active cache? Let's discuss!
  21. I'm thinking about getting my first GPS for Geocaching and have been researching different options. The 3 GPS's I have read about that have the best reviews are the Garmin 60CSX, the Garmin 76CSX, and the PN-40. Which GPS do you recommend for the Geocaching newbie? Which is the best value? (Cost/Performance) Any suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks!
