  1. There is the nail on head moment, ask yourself why.
  2. well you would mate, with jack all to do other than collect the numbers.
  3. Oh come on! I don't subscribe to the "put it on your ignore list". Self police. Expunge this type of power trail. Go back to basics!
  4. Completely agree with the opinion, given without abuse. I don't know poshrule, but he/she is clearly intent on putting out at least 500 caches, whatever their content. The poster of that log should be congratulated, it's called self policing.
  5. FTF Fever! Caused by poor quality cache placements of micro's in ivy covered trees. Why did you do that? Did it have to be a micro (they do have their places, but in an ivy covered tree is not one of them).
  6. Hello fellow hater of PPCP (Pi** Poor Cache Placement) They contravene no guidelines, and not enough people "self Police" their local area, as it looks like you're keen to do. Self policing often instigates local grudges, and simply isn't worth the bother. So, put them on your ignore list, and watch the quality of cache hides fall off the edge of an abyss.
  7. icache.co.uk was the site. Last time it ran the UK cache total was about 69,000. The site still operates, but just for event caches. Shame the owner closed it, it was a great source of stat information. However, it could never have calculated the total cachers in the UK, only the different accounts held on the current UK database, plus maybe cacher accounts on placed caches where the owner hadn't found any in the current database. (none of which it ever did IIRC) Would have been a start though wouldn't it. On the above post that talks about estimating on world population, what answer do you get if you proportion it by country based on the forum topic %. I don't remember seeing a section for China or India on here, that takes quite a few numbers out of the equation.
  8. Gosh, what words to say. really nice guy we met a couple of times at the emcache events. kind regards and thoughts to his family.
  9. Have a look on this site www.pocketgpsworld.com, and search for that retailer. The PGPSW site has a good/bad supplier section, and I know Pentagon is a known supplier. Not sure if they appear on the good or the bad list though.
  10. You are fortunate, as I have just spent the last 10 minutes composing a message based on your original post......Please watch your step.
  11. Most excellent! The best geocaching slot on the telly by miles, definately no caches in puddles. Well done Ve8, Ashby-Bells, and Stevo185, plus niknrich for GZ.
  12. Either a very good wind-up, or the answer is.....it wouldn't look very good if they all went out FTF hunting, with all the puzzles solved, so they have to be impartial. Much as I liked the vision of a load of noobs hitting the "archive" button caused by rumours printed in the Daily Wail. (and they have "real" caching names that are different from their mod persona.)
  13. Welcome to a world of sometime number chasers and cache robbers. I'm still holding out that there more good cachers than bad, but even the good ones still mostly undertrade. This is why I no longer put out coins (robbed of over 70), or caches, too many raped to mention. Micro's will overtake the hobby in the end. Happy to help.
  14. How would we know who you mean. You seem to have a lot of "proof" about a number of issues, that seem to be formed from nothing but vapour.... edited to add, very sorry to hear about the cache trashing.
  15. Have a chat with these folks........emcache
