Geograph's PHP conversion code on SourceForge probably hasn't changed much, it's in conversions.class.php conversionslatlong.class.php The javascript version can be found here

It is an update, it restores all the links that the script provided before all the changes were made.

Use WGS84 and DD MM.MMM format for caching - I believe the north reference is only used to allow the unit to figure out how to present your heading, i.e. if you walk towards a waypoint, should it say your direction is e270 degrees or 276 degrees?

I've already patched the OS map linker Greasemonkey script, which inserts links to 1:25K OS maps into cache pages to cope, but I'm not sure it works for everyone. Like EdgeMaster, I'll keep an eye on the changes and release a fully updated version once things calm down.

If you post a link to a cache page it doesn't work on, I'll check it out. It's also possible you have an older version cached, try this link instead

FWIW, I've quickly patched the map linking script here http://files.dixo.net/GeocachingMapLinker.user.js - at the moment this just inserts an OS map link and grid reference after the WGS84 coordinate at the top of the page. Soon as I can make it look nice I'll put the other links like Google Satellite etc.

Some bold claims for this product - anyone tried it?

Here's my take: The old way: users don't like the way a site works, they email the webmaster asking for improvements, who may, or may not, in the fullness of time, get around to do doing it. The new way: users don't like the way a site works, they write a Greasemonkey script which provides the functionality and distribute to others who might like it. If a particular enhancement doesn't meet your needs, don't install it. Take one of mine, which allows you to ignore particular forum threads by hiding them. This appeals to some as there might be a bunch of threads hovering around the top spot you aren't interested in, or pinned threads you never read. The plugin lets you make them go away. I personally won't install the collapse blocks plugin as I don't think it would particularly enhance my use of gc.com. So the "why" is really down to you....

I second the Slingshot suggestion if you are carrying an SLR, it's really well designed bag. It even has this waterproof cover you can pull out of the bottom to keep the whole thing dry, which I used in the drizzle this afternoon...

The short answer is "don't bother" - all cachers use WGS84 lat/long, so don't worry too much about the accuracy of the converted OS coordinates on the cache page. The longer answer would mean delving deeper - can you post a example? It's possible you've maybe got your GPS wrongly configured - ensure you use the OSGB36 datum when taking OS coordinates, and the WGS84 datum for lat/long coordinates. There are also a variety of methods of converting between the two coordinate systems, though I believe most product reasonably accurate results....

Geograph was very much born here! The Radio 2 link saw traffic soaring to 3 times its normal level, which is nice! And yes, at some point (sometime in 2008/9) we'll reset the grid, and keep collecting a continuing picture of our landscape ad infinitum

You can add "friends and family" usernames and passwords for your public access point via the configuration page on the Fon website. I've added geocacher/geocacher to mine!
