  1. Hey nice work! Not sure if it's just a temporary glitch with multimap but I couldn't get a map on this page Does it break Multimap's terms of service though In any case, it's a nice extension. Monkey power! (EDIT: maps working for me now!)
  2. OK, I'll bite... I've found you can get patchy free WiFi, it's pot luck. There are plenty of pay services in coffee shops - sometimes you pay a fee, sometimes you get an access code just by making a purchase. Try looking at hotspotted and maybe consume.net but this might be too technical, I'm not sure of your background. In a nutshell, you might get free access, but if you can't, there's a good chance a pay service is within range. London is pretty cosmopolitan, and one tourist looks pretty much like another, I wouldn't worry. A backpack would be fine See above! I believe Pharisee has a special licence for that hat. Short for "toasted sandwich" - two slices of toast with something tasty between them. Most pubs do, but there's normally a minimum purchase. If you really must know, their telephone number is +44 20 7405 4751 I doubt it will affect you in any way at all. Anyway, August bank holiday is on 29th August, 2 days before you arrive. You can travel all day on the tube in zone 1-2 (that pretty much covers most things in central london) for £6 and pay by credit card. Many museums and galleries are free, those that aren't, check their websites. A drink (pint/glass of wine whatever) in a typical pub is £2.50-£3. Food can be cheap if you seek out backstreet restaurants (nice lunch for £5) or expensive if you fall into a tourist trap like an "Aberdeen Angus Steak House". Northern Ireland does, but the Republic of Ireland uses the Euro. No idea, sorry!
  3. Like most films, the best bits are in the trailer I'm slowly editing all the footage together though, still might be a few weekends before I complete it though! Myself and House of Boo are pondering a sequel though...
  4. Sounds like you are bang up to date, same setup as me. Do you have any other extensions that might be conflicting? Or other GreaseMonkey scripts active that might act on geocaching.com pages? Also, make sure you have the latest script - right click here and choose Install User Script to be sure....
  5. Monkey Repair Man here - what browser are you using? are you left clicking or right clicking, and do you have the latest GreaseMonkey version?
  6. Looking forward to Go Ape, but after sorting out my "Carry on Camping" photos last night, I've discovered how Penny and Tigger managed to do 1000 caches..... ....cloning!
  7. For anyone going to the "Bash in a Cache" in London on 1st September, I'll be taking orders nearer the date to "bulk buy" TBs and other bits and pieces to save on postage.
  8. Oooby Do! I wanna be like youuuu! Sounds great, I've logged my interest!
  9. I think you mean uninterested. Disinterested means something else. Sorry to be pedantic. Glad the TBs are safe! I see your pendantry and I raise you one nitpick
  10. Is it a heated screen? You might need a re-radiating antenna to sort the problem out...
  11. Try here (Edit - seems I misread the thread and thought you were looking for ammo boxes...)
  12. Every year I do the Saddleworth Beer Walk - in 2004 our team were pirates, which is where the image came from. This year we were Cybermen... I'm the one on the right. BBC Special Effects department will be quaking in their boots. I'm probably change my avatar to an photo from "Quest for the Ring of Power" once I get the pictures off my camera!
  13. I set up a small business called Elphin Ltd, and we called our first office "Elphin House". Friends started calling me Lord Elphin of Elphinshire, the name stuck, and I started using the contraction "lordelph" as a sure fire login name for virtually everything Nothing to do with Elves
  14. "Get a moooove on and take the picture, I'm Friesian..."
  15. If you've never written to your Councillor/MP/MEP before it's never been easier - check out Write To Them. And if you're wanting to know what your MP is up to, They Work For You is excellent!
  16. A geocaching swinging party? Ding dong! It does look like fun though...might be a good excuse to take the whole family up to the lakes!
  17. We had a good explore inside. There were newspapers from 1991 and discarded rations (tins waaaaaaay past their best!) along with checklists of what they had to do in the event of nuclear attack. It was rather eerie....I took a picture of the checklist and I've got some infra-red video too if anyone is *really* interested.
  18. Fast naughty girls? Where are these courses held
  19. Just had a letter from those fine folks at the Cheshire Constabulary who noticed me travelling at 47mph in a 40mph limit on the M6 while heading to "Carry on Camping". They've awarded me three points, thankfully I'm not a numbers man for licence points Still, every cloud and all that - isn't there a locationless cache for this sort of thing?
  20. Judging by the response so far everyone is just gasping for a beer opportunity, so the event is on! The room is booked and the Bash in a Cache is active! If you're coming, please add a note to the cache page. Nearer the time I'll do what I did at the last event and make up a "bulk order" of geocaching items like stickers and TBs to save on postage costs.
  21. If anyone wants to apply for the position of "stunt LordElph" they are more than welcome. It's healing nicely thanks but it still hurts! Oh how I suffer for my art....
  22. There was talk of a London meet here, and many at the Carry on Camping event wanted another, so lets do it! Thursdays seemed to work best for most at previous events, so I'll suggest Thursday 1st September 7pm onwards (mainly because it works best for me!). Hopefully our American friends in the earlier thread will be able to make it. If there's enough interest and we can settle a date, I'll get the 16th Century Pub booked and set up the event cache.... --------- EDIT: All set for Thurs 1st September at 7pm - the Bash in a Cache is on!
  23. At its deepest it was up my knees, and refreshingly cold! Summer is definitely a good time to do this one.
  24. Thursday 1st September works for me. I think the February one was a Thursday too, and that turned out to be a good night for most I think. Any takers? Probably warrants a new thread....
