It is time. BRING BACK WEB CAMS in a limited way
SwineFlew replied to Rathergohiking's topic in General geocaching topics
You gotta stand at the x mark or your log will be deleted! (Hint hint, Hawaii web cam) -
That's creepy. Glad gs removed it to keep you in the dark.

I think you should think about API log search tool on GSAK. Its so powerful that anyone can find any type of logs you made on gc.com. No privacy whatsoever.
-
About time!!! We got someone here that only place PM caches for that tool. It was really annoying they think you stolen their caches or stalking them. I am glad GS finally removed it.
-
have you signed the same log twice?
SwineFlew replied to captnemo's topic in General geocaching topics
Doesnt really matter... GS wont allow you to double log any caches anymore. -
No...not playing that silly game. You can cheat the system by finding all the caches in one day and log them one day as a time.

I saw those logs and I was wondering if he/she really found them. I am willing to bet that you can log all of the ET powertail and only find a dozen of them and drive by the rest. Whos really checking? Nobody. -

More time with the family mean hunting for the cache itself... kids dont write logs... I often take my nephew and niece with me and I dont have time to write logs once we are done caching because we are doing other things like watching movies, getting them all hyper with sugar and etc. Spending time with the family is more important than pleasing those high maintenance CO that want fancy logs. I am not going to take my time to please them because my family is more important than your caches. Finding it is the key point of spending time with the family. I am a CO and all the find it emails go to a file and I never see them. I dont care if you find my caches or not or how long or how short you write it. All I care that you had fun and that's it. I only read DNF or maintenance logs, that's it. If you are one of those CO that get upset when someone write a very short log on your "awesome" cache, being a CO isn't for you. So you are telling me that I have to put time writing log for your cache and put my family time on hold every evening when we went caching? No thank you, I wont do that. -

Lets me say this, being a CO isn't for everyone. I think GS is crazy to write that article and put finders on a guilty trip. Most people don't have time to write logs because they are busy with the family so the short logs are here to stay. Thank god for GS app where I can log on the fly. Just copy and paste and done! Take just a few second and on to the next cache or other things in life. TYFTT -

I see that you found some of the power trails that I found in the Midland area. Yes it's in the middle of nowhere but I have people following me and asking me what I am doing out there. One time it was almost at gunpoint. There's people out there that don't want you close to their oil fields, period. BTW, I know which CO you are talking about. It's not hard to figured that out if anyone found his caches in your area. -

What about that archived power trail in eastern Colorado that got all the farmers upset? -
Archiving the caches are the best thing you can do for the hobby. You free up the area for newer caches.

Being a CO isn't for everyone. It's like having teenagers that drive you crazy and there's not much you can do about it. Just relax and have fun. -

Fourth way to Thanks a CO. 4. TFTC! -
Yep... being a CO isn't for everyone. My opinion of being a CO is like being a parents dealing with 13 year old... you just learn to roll with it.

If I remember it right... the attended log will do it.

Yes or no. Its all depend on how you answer those questions. I got story that happen years ago. My cousin married a Canadian girl and more than 200 people from my area was going up to Canada for the wedding(most of them the day before the wedding) and the boarder guard was very aware that something was going on(my dad heard him said...oh another group) We got in without any problem, but other people had trouble later that day. If they asked you where you are going, you better be honest and I am very sure the boarder people will be aware of this event and they might be asking you for proof of hotel reservation if you are planing to be there more than a day.(this is to keep you from car camping and pour money into their country) (they will know all the hotel in a given area will be booked full) You said its the easiest country for US citizens? Again, yes or no.
