  1. Are you still beating on the dead horse? If you don't like GS new suggestions, please archived all your caches and stop geocaching. No hard feelings.
  2. GS finally kicked GC600 to the curb. Very likely cleaning up the caches that doesn't do any good.
  3. No. We don't need it. I haven't forgotten that controlling CO that own a webcam cache in Hawaii. People like him is the reason why we got rules today.
  4. Yep, it shows up on one cache I was following. I was laughing and don't care! Carry on folks, not everyone play the game like you do.
  5. Why revisit an area that you don't get any points for it? That's silly!! Yes, I live right next door to a pokemon shop and its annoying. Same people for the last 4 years. Talking about 2 to 3 dozens of them. GS needs new blood instead of those old keyboard warriors that spend 30 bucks a year putting down GS for every little change. Talking about people that take everything personal. Sigh...
  6. This! I have new cachers telling me it isn't worth the cost once you cleaned out an area. I do see from GS point of view of telling people to archive their caches so it free up the area for new hides. New hides means more finds for local cachers that don't want to drive out of their way. Old timers were telling me there was dozens of new caches weekly during the heyday of geocaching. What happens? Pretty simple, too many caches that are hogging the location that most local cachers found years ago. Most new caches go missing because they aren't good locations to start with. I see new cachers placing hide in area where it will disappear within a few months.
  7. GS knows this hobby is dying and they want people to archived caches so people can place new ones. Most new cachers give up once they cleaned out their area.
  8. https://nypost.com/2020/12/01/extreme-sports-pro-mr-slackline-claims-he-removed-utah-monolith Well...don't give him any ideas about geocaching.
  9. I should build one and put it on my place with a geocache door.
  10. Looks like someone removed it. https://www.cnet.com/news/mysterious-utah-monolith-puzzle-has-been-solved-by-internet-sleuths/
  11. Oh my! And don't forget to social distance.
  12. Over on Wikipedia, they having a war on the location of this monolith. Lol. Someone keeps removing it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utah_monolith
  13. https://trib.al/nSPCjJH Look like plenty of people are finding it.
  14. You are right, the public are making plans to see it. I looked up the area with google earth and those dirt roads are rough. The government should have just ignore it and move on.
  15. To get there required some serious offroad vehicle and its remote enough if you get stuck out there with the wrong vehicle. Most guys that go back there are with a group of offroad vehicles for a good reason.
  16. Check again. btw, it been there for 5 years and people been talking about it on reddit for years.
  17. I rarely agree with fizzy and this time I do. Driving on the Utah Backcountry Discovery Route isn't illegal last I know. When the government doesn't tell us the location, it get too too many people involved to find the location. If I have a friend with the correct equipment to drive on those roads, I would do it. The government doesn't want people with the wrong 4x4 to go back there.
  18. Take a look at the satellite map. Keep in mind this marker is around 10 to 12 foot tall.
  19. Anyone of you guys planning to put a cache or virtual cache at this location? For those that haven't been following the news, here's the information about it: here I believe I found the location... 38.343080,-109.666134
  20. Grow up and walk away from the forum.
  21. Lol. Typical of you when you don't wanna understand.
  22. If there isnt a co, its over with. Stop trying to be victimized. It get old when people are playing that childish game.
  23. Not your job to maintenance them... if needed to be archived, archived them and move on.
