That skirt lifter definitely made me laugh. I'd def give out a fav point for a well stocked cache. I don't normally trade swag but I can apperciate someone who makes it a point to keep up with their cache. I got my 10yr old niece into GCing, even bought her the geomate jr. so she can still GC even tho I moved out of state. I never felt more bummed out then when we rolled up on a bigger cache an then opening just finding some junk for her. Junk as in melted candy, gravel, and things you can't even identify anymore. For me it's about hunting the treasure but for kids it's about the treasue hunt AND the loot. My niece and I decided to make one over the last holiday season. A simple container, an extra large thermos we covered in camo duct tape. But super geared towards kids. We then went out swag hunting and I purchased about 80 bucks worth of sweet swag. Swag to fill it initially and then plenty of things to do refills with. We have gotten some nice compliments about it. One log said it was the 1st time ever their little one wanted to add a fav point. And it's placed so my niece can spy on ppl finding it from her kitchen window. Hahaha.

Mitragorz that is a super good story. I would of def left a fav point also. I'm surprised about the mad amount of points ppl have in reserve! You guys must $ like crazy. My goal this year is to get at least 366 this year. Some of you guys find that in a month lol! I guess I shouldn't just wait until one knocks my socks off. But give them out when I enjoy them.(I went back and gave some more out to ones I recently found and enjoyed) And I like the idea of giving points to COs that take excellent care of their $s.

I've assigned 268 favorite points, and have 89 in reserve. Any cache that I realy enjoy will get a favorite point! I assigned two this weekend. An interestingly done cache in an urban park, and a climb down in an abandoned brownstone quarry. I greatly enjoyed both. And they got favorite points. that's my criterion: Well done, greatly enjoyed = favorte point. An abandoned quarry sounds fun!

I recently gave GC2JHH2 a point for a well done sneaky container. Very nicely done. Unfortunately someone logged a found on something that clearly said "THIS IS NOT IT" totally missing out on discovering the real deal.

I tend to hoard my favorite points. I have given 17 fav points and currently have 21 I can give out. does anyone else find themselves hoarding? I think my area is currently lacking extraordinary hides and containers. I have currently taken up listening to the Chicago Geocashers Podcasts to hear their fav.s their "topper cache" and then putting them on my go get em list. What are your favs and why? Recently awarded a fav point?

Unfortunately on two separate occasions I found bags containing a very sad situation. The 1st was not GCing related. the authorities were notified and the owner prosecuted. all others(5 still alive) were removed from the area by me and a friend in a late night sting along with two adult dogs the owner received 7,000 in fines and jail time. I'm taking it that this is probably along the lines as what you found The second time I feel was just a homeless guys/gals old companion as 3 caches were pretty much surrounding the 'camp' area. And I found the litte guy wrapped nicely in a blanky with a few toys and a stuffed animal under a tree near the water.

I was just wondering if anyone in Chicago would like to meet up for some benchmark hunting. I have found some disks but just by accident and I don't have a single find on the site. Just trying to get into it. I learn better/faster when I'm showed how to do things then I do when I try and read the directions. Plus I would like to meet some GCers as I'm fairly new to the city still and just can't seem to make it to the events(never fails). Please message me if you you be interested!

Im just looking for some ideas on what maps I should purchase for my Garmin Dakota 20. I read a lot of reviews but i still cant make up my mind! What are your favorites?
