  1. Unfortunately some of my fave caches have been archived but here's aome that are still active..... First off - two EXCELLENT night (reflector trail) caches: In the steps of Beelzebub The Grinshill Ghoul This series is nice and easy but has magnificent views Snowdon View This is a quick cache but a clever hide - first of it's kind i'd done: ' Confederate Hideout ' One of the best puzzle's i've done/solved:- Illumination Probably my fave cache:- ALL TOOLED UP These sound like Rocky Balboa type caches - LOTS of driving and TB hunting:- Stencil Stash and Interception and They Seek Us Here, They Seek Us There Here's three great/epic cache series:- The Zodiac Series and Alchemy Quest and ALPHA QUEST and finally, one I've tried a couple of time but have yet to complete.... One Step To Heaven
  2. Next..... Name the place in the centre of the pic and call me with the name of the nearest cache(s)
  3. You are CORRECT !!! It isn't the cache imortalised by the 7 puzzle. I can see the resemblance though. http://www.treasureclub.net/publichunts/lucky7/index.html I can definitely say it is NOT that cache And that it is Athelney, Bridgwater, Somerset N 51 03.548 W 002 56.073 First episode of Time Team focusing on the search for Alfred's Athelney Abbey and fort. Nearest cache is GC1D5HV "King Alfred's Athelney Mump" New one asap.....
  4. We (me, Lnz+Carlos and a couple of friends) did that cache last year. We couldn't believe the list of items that was detailed on the cache page! As we walked to the cache I read out the contents to much amusement - "yeah right, of course there's a badminton set and a kangaroo!"We were sure it was a wind up but were amazed to see the container and wondered how you managed to get it all there! Great cache to do and we got some lovely sunny weather for it too - thanks for making our day!
  5. OK, I've got the full route for the Leeds & Liverpool canal uploaded now. It is broken down into 7 parts plus 2 more for a couple of branch canals. Any problems with them, let me know Are there any more requests?
  6. Hi Nediam, We have just caught up on your posting on the forum. As we hadn't heard anything from you on our previous email, we weren't sure you were still involved with Geocaching along the canal, so we went ahead and had a go at creating our own routes for our summer trip. If you do a search on keywords "canal", "narrowboat" "navigation", you will see what we have done so far. Sorry we have crossed our efforts. Regards Free Timers PS We have uploaded several routes without a problem (we think!!!!) No probs with the "Crossed Efforts" I've managed now to upload the first part of the Leeds & Liverpool. I'll now get going with the rest..... Don't know why it wouldn't work earlier. The only thing I did different this time was to enter a short name first, then edit it later when I entered the Keyword stuff.
  7. After an e-mail from the Free Timers I have now created a route for the Leeds & Liverpool canal. I've split it into around 7 parts plus two additional ones for some side branches. Unfortunately I cannot upload the routes! I've tried several times and can't get it work. Does anyone know if there's any problems with the system? Thanks
  8. Looking at Watford Wobble's profile and the nearest caches to their other finds - I'm guessing it could be GC11BR9 - Don't Barge By. It has a clue which fits with what they were saying about "logical" The cache may well be very close to the posted co-ords - just disguised well
  9. I just clicked on the "Find caches along a route" link and got the same error message straight away! Clicked "back" and tried again and it opened ok the second time. Tried to create a PQ for the Coventry Canal route and it came up with the correct page without any error messages. I have seen similar problems with this feature before - I don't think it's 100% reliable as yet, but it's worth persevering with

  12. Have now done the Forth & Clyde Canal to tie-in with haggis Hunters' Union Canal
  13. I've had a look at the Neath Canal and apparently there's only a few miles of it open. However, most of it is still shown on the O.S. maps so I've created a route for it anyway.
  14. Bridgwater & Taunton Canal now done
  15. Glad it helps If you send me your email address via PM or email, I can send you the original GPX files for the Grand Union. For some reason the GC.com program chops up the routes quite badly!
  16. Have now added the "Birmingham Canal Network" which, in all, is around another 100 miles of canal and includes:- Tame Valley Canal, Rushall Canal, Daw End Branch Canal, Cannock Extension Canal, Wyrley & Essington Canal, Birmingham Canal Main Line, Birmingham Canal Old Main Line, Walsall Branch Canal, Walsall Canal, Wednesbury Oak Loop, Gower Branch Canal, Titford Canal, Wednesbury Old Canal, Dudley No 1 Canal, Dudley No 2 Canal, Stourbridge Canal, Birmingham & Fazeley Canal, Digbeth Branch Canal, Netherton Tunnel Branch Canal and the complete Worcester & Birmingham Canal Again, let me know of any problems etc and If there are any more requests I shall try and do them next week
  17. You should be able to go to the "Find Caches Along a Route" in the Premium Feature section and then do a search in the "Search by Keyword" tab - typing "canal" will find them all or you could just enter the name of the canal you're after
  18. Have now uploaded the Grand Union Canal in around 15 sections, including the Aylesbury, Northampton, Slough and Wendover arms. Give me a heads up if anyone notices any probs. I haven't put too much details into the info section yet - thought it best to get them uploaded first Any more "urgent" requests?
  19. No problem, glad they're of use Yep, I'll look into those 2 canals next and post here again when they're done Macclesfield and Peak Forest canals are now done Let me know if there's any problems with them Any other requests? Edit:- Also done the Coventry Canal to link some of the others up
  20. No problem, glad they're of use Yep, I'll look into those 2 canals next and post here again when they're done
  21. Now done both of these By Tiverton Canal do you mean "Grand Western Canal"? If so, that's done too - all 11 miles of it Had to rush these 3 so the descriptions are a bit basic but I'll update them next week. The routes should be fine though Let me know of any problems etc Any more suggestions/requests? Should be able to get some more done next week
  22. OK, I have now completed the Oxford Canal running from Oxford to the Coventry Canal (around 77 miles). I have split it into 4 sections, one of which is the Grand Union Canal which splits the Oxford canal in two. Hopefully they're of use to someone - let me know of any problems/suggestions etc Any suggestions or requests for the next one?......
