  1. Be sure to look for the "Girls of Geocaching" Special edition, where Miss September describes her "terrain" as 5, but level of difficulty "1". Ever notice everybody is willing to give THEIR 2 cents worth but only offer a penny for YOUR thoughts?
  2. I've heard it was bad luck to be. Actually, my first ritual is to crank up my car with the power adapter still plugged in. My second ritual is to replace the blown fuse in the power adapter. Ever notice everybody is willing to give THEIR 2 cents worth but only offer a penny for YOUR thoughts?
  3. I have refrained from getting carried away in placing a lot of caches for a couple of reasons: First, I don't want to get burnt out on it. Too often when one first gets started in something, they get so carried away it gets old quick and loses some of the excitement. Secondly, I don't want to saturate the area around me with my caches, not because there's so many, but just the opposite, there are very few. As hard as I may try, if most of the caches in an area are by me,I fear they're gonna end up looking too similar. I placed my first cache very soon after hearing about geocaching, mainly to prove to myself nobody actually goes out and finds these things (it's had 15 finders from 3 states so far). I forced myself to wait a few months before planting another. It ended up being a 9 -phase multi-cache. The only person who's found it thus far said it took 4 hours beginning to end. I can honestly say that the months of planning and scouting just the right spots and waiting - and waiting - and waiting was actually the most fun of the whole experience! It was sort of anti-climatic putting it out. I didn't want to turn my baby loose for strangers to forage through! So far this makes my total finds 15 and plants 2. I do have my eye on about 6 more finds next weekend on a Jackson-Vicksburg-Natchez,MS runthough. My next cache most likely won't go out until mid-June at the earliest. (I've already been out searching for THE perfect spot in the area I have in mind three times. Stamp out and eradicate superfluous redundancy
  4. You'd see a geocaching.com decal in my window, printouts of other caches on the front seat, and if it was a 1/1, my backpack is probably on the back seat. Then again, if it's a 1/1, I'm probably in sight myself. Stamp out and eradicate superfluous redundancy

  7. Worst weather I've encountered so far was a hard rain and strong gusts of wind. I was in Chunky, MS looking for a small cache that had never been found when the rain started getting really hard so I took refuge in my car to wait for it to blow over so I could continue. While waiting in the car, I listened to the radio and heard a report that a tornado had just touched down in Hickory, MS and was headed due east. Being unfamiliar with Hickory, MS, I checked my map to see where it was. "Aha! Here it is - 10 miles -uh, due WEST of, uh,uh, Chunky. Outta there! Stamp out and eradicate superfluous redundancy
  8. I don't see myself placing any MOCs any time in the foreseeable future. Heck, we don't have nearly enough normal ones around here yet! The nearest cache to me that I haven't found yet is 80 miles away. Impressive caching on my part? No - I've only found 10. And now there's only three left within 100 miles! 9. Why, everyone knows that Charter member's speling is prefect, our children are perfect - hang on a sec - "Junior, You take that diaper off your head and put it back on your sister right this instant!" - Ok, where was I? Oh yeah, charter members never repeat themselves. Charter members would never overuse smiley icons. Charter members never repeat themselves. Actually, I think the only thing the charter member icon will represent will be years from now, some kid will see it by our name and say, "Look, Mommy! It's a charter member. They must be like really old! Stamp out and eradicate superfluous redundancy

Your choices don't show the whole picture. http:// GPS=GetPeopleSearching Uh, yeah, I realize that the choices are limited. Putting all the different combinations would be somewhere around 80 different choices. That would make for a wee bit lengthy poll, don't ya think? Just go with whichever is closest. Better yet, qualify your vote with a comment in the thread. A 5/1 puzzler would be fun for some. However, with my profuse denseness, I'd probably have to set aside a month, not a day Stamp out and eradicate superfluous redundancy

  16. It was a little 10 piece puzzle on a keychain - formed an IBM ad. It occupies the top left corner of the curio cabinet with all my caching trinkets. Stamp out and eradicate superfluous redundancy
