  1. I see TBs on ebay once in a while and they usually go for more than retail - go figure!
  2. I'd like to get a small but bright flashlight for geocaching. Some time ago there was a discussion of flashlights here, but as I recall it got pretty technical. The only thing I know about flashlights is that you put batteries in, press a button and a light comes on! So does anyone have a suggestion for a good flashlight that won't require me to take out a second mortgage?
  3. I just checked out geocaching stuff on ebay and found 2 humorous items: A personalized geocaching diploma, starting bid $9.95 A sticker for your car declaring it an "official search vehicle" with the GC logo, starting bid $9.99
  4. Huh, I've never seen that - brave birds! I have a goshawk hanging around catching the smaller birds, so my feeder is down for a while, sigh!
  5. Lyme Disease? Way no fun!! There's a bunch of info on it at About.com. Just put Lyme Disease in their search box and you'll find lots of stuff. I've been a member of their migraine and dog forums forever! Good luck, hope it works out ok for you.
  6. I wonder if you could come up with a ftf prize that plays on the black pearl theme: earrings maybe???
  7. My grandfather called them the Grey Fellows.
  8. We have lots of magpies in Oregon too! But a handful of decomposing one - ewwwwww!
  9. I agree with the previous posters, but it brings a related question to mind. I get lots of promo gifts, nice pens, small flashlights, carabiners, etc. The thing is that they all have a business or product name on them. I've not placed any of these items in a cache for fear that they're advertising, but I'd like your opinions.
  10. Ours is a 2004 Toyota Highlander - I looooove this vehicle!
  11. Hmmm, my nephew works for ILM sometimes, I'll have to ask him for help in coming up with an awesome cache!
  12. do a search at Yellowstone National Park. We were there last week, and without GC wouldn't have known that there were any in YNP! Neat way to learn history as long as, as others have said, it's done with respect and not intrustion.
  13. Or as my Dad put it, some days you're the dog and some days you're the hydrant!! I have the opposite problem, I have a coin/token cache that's getting less stuff. I started out with about a dozen items in it and when I checked it yesterday (because several cachers had found it but not logged what they took/left) it only had 5 items left! I'll restock today.
  14. Sorry... Edited for the faint of heart: And Team Tigger...why is it that every non-geocacher friend of mine is telling me I have to go on the Amazing Race??? Somehow that's even more disturbing
  15. Yeah, they're $50 - $70! But they'd be such a cool cache spot!!
  16. I've been seeing these great-looking fake rocks in catalogs. They're big enough to fit a bucket underneath. Downside: they're expensive and I'm afraid someone would swipe the rock! What do you think???
  17. Team PerkyPerks; I just have to ask why that cat has 3 eyes???
  18. Thanks, I'll try that! I feel stoopid...
  19. I picked up a travel bug, and thought I'd logged it. Turns out that I somehow left a note instead. Now I've dropped the TB in a cache far far away and I don't have the tracking number! I've emailed the owner but he/she hasn't gotten back to me yet. Is there any other way to get the tracking number so I can properly log the find and drop?
  20. Very helpful everyone. I've decided no extra tag. Just let them wonder what the heck this bug is supposed to do. He's a free-spirit bug!
  21. I have a travel bug that I want to attach to a weird item. Do I also need to attach some kind of explanation of what a TB is? This bug will have no goal, just travel around. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm new at this!
