I'm in Oregon, would be glad to launch a TB for you here!
-
I unintentionally archived a couple of TB logs, and wondered if there's a way to retrieve them?

The Perfect Paperless Package
PNWWizard replied to thenaturenurd's topic in GPS technology and devices
How old is the PDA? How's its condition? -
For longevity I've had fun with Shoot This Dog TB. It's a plain, fabric dog collar with a TB attached. I've also attached a tag asking finders to take a photo (shoot this dog) of the collar on their dog. It's travelled almost 13,000 miles! And the photos are a riot.

I just tried it in IE instead of Netscape and it worked. Hmmmmm. but it's so slow we may be caching in the dark
-
I'm trying to search a route nearby, but every option returns "no results found"! I even tried by state & zip code with the same message.

Thanks Dominic, I really appreciate it!

Would someone do a short translation for me?
PNWWizard replied to PNWWizard's topic in Italian-Speaking
Thanks, this will be great! -
We're not going to Paris, but I can get the TB as far as Provence. Can you mail it to me in Oregon?
-
I'm travelling to Italy next month from the US and would like to launch a travel bug. I thought it might be a good idea to include a translation of the bug's purpose (2 sentences) from English to Italian. I know it's a hassle but I hoped someone might be willing to help. I've been learning basic words & phrases, but this is beyond me and I don't want it to be gibberish!

Oh great, now I have 2 birdcams to watch I've been following this thread and REALLY enjoying it. Here's a link to the raptorcam: KGW RaptorCam The story is that a red-tail hawk has built a nest on a fire escape in downtown Portland Oregon. It's been so cool to watch! Thanks for posting all the pics!

Thanks for this tip. I was having the same error message and your solution solved it! Keep on cachin'

Very helpful, THANKS!! We enjoy unusual caches and the tram looks like fun!
-
Can anyone give me the coords of a cache at the top of the tram near Palm Springs? I'll be there soon but I can't find the tram on any map! We'd like to find one or more up there. Update: I found it! But suggestions for fun or unusual caches in the Palm Springs area would be appreciated!

I just learned that along with the Pocket PCs we'll also be giving away a Garmin GPS unit, $300 in gift certificates, and 5 one year premium memberships to GC.com! They said if you're already a premium member they'll use the certificate to add a free year onto your account. WOW!!

Hmm..Interesting. I've never been to this Da Vinci Day thing.. -ajb It's a festival of science, art, & technology. There's an awesome kinetic sculpture race, a kids's village, music, food, beer, wine, movies, community art, and tons more. Our booth will have geocachers, plus guys from Global Mapping Technology, Pacific Survey Supply, and Tripod Data Systems.

Darn!! Put it on your calendar for next year, it's always the same weekend!!
-
Corvallis caching would make a nice break after Portland! I'm not free Sunday, but Monday is possible... Or you can visit da Vinci Days Sunday and check out the cache event!
-
How does this work? Is it a race or puzzle cache or what? Inquiring minds want to know. =) On Sunday you register at the booth (N44 33.952 W123 16.322) between 10 am & 2 pm and then you'll have 2 hours to find as many of the 16 temporary caches as you can. The winners will be the fastest with the most caches. We'll have 2 divisions: Novice & Advanced. We consider anyone who has found fewer than 10 caches a novice. There'll be a bagfull of prizes for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place in each catagory, plus we may have a wild card prize or two. Depends on how many goodies we get donated for prizes! Last year only 2 people found all the caches, and all caches are within 1 mile of the booth. The awards ceremony is at 4:15 at the Shady Stage. We have 8 loaner Garmins for those who need one, but we ask that there's only 1 gps unit per "team" or "group" of participants to keep things fair! On Saturday we'll have geocachers as well as GPS & GIS experts on hand to answer questions, or just discuss what's new.

That would be true, except that the Champoeg event is over Sunday morning, and our event is all day Sunday! Why not do both??? Check it out at: http://www.davinci-days.org/

At Corvallis da Vinci Days we'll again have a geocaching information booth on Saturday and an event on Sunday. The event is, unfortunately unsanctioned by GC.com but last years' event was a blast! And this year the prizes have gotten better, including 2 Recon Pocket PC handhelds, used but refurbished. http://www.tdsway.com/products/recon We also have t-shirts, cup cozies, pens, posters, stickers, and big gift certificates! On Sunday after the event you can get credit for attending the Beanery Cache Event (GCWVF1). Saturday, July 15, 10 - 6 and Sunday July 16 10 - 5 Note: The event ends at 4:00, you must begin no later than 2:30.

I'll vote for that one too! It'd be great to look up at the moon and think "there's a cache up there!"
