  1. If you're up for supporting Special Olympics of Washington this Saturday (10/11) and doing a fun multi-cache, check this out: SOWA Cache I hosted this event last year and everyone had a blast, so we're doing it again! Plus, I'm giving away a brand new eTrex yellow (and other prizes). This event is part of the Tukwila Police Department's annual fundraising for Special Olympics Washington, and this year is going to be our biggest year yet at over $20,000 raised! Spectacular! Hope you can join in on the fun this Saturday. -Junebuggy
  2. I've not been able to attend a meeting due only to a strange twist of fate. The *only* night meeting I attend for work is on the second Tuesday of the month ... so I can't make it to the WSGA meetings for that reason. If the day happens to change for WSGA meetings, I would pick the Kent Library and the Pyramid Alehouse (just cuz I'm a south-end gal), but I would also probably attend other meetings that require some commuting. I was especially bummed to miss the Pyramid meeting, because it seemed like it would be fun and easy to hang out and chat with folks (and so it seems, based on people's comments!). Maybe next time!
  3. Welcome Pepper ... I happen to work in Tukwila and live very nearby. If you want opinions of where to find stuff (other than caches! horrors!), send me a line and I'll try to help. -Junebuggy
  4. COD DRIP STOUT? Even *I* get that one ... -Junebuggy
  5. I'm usually up for most things involving food, but could dutch oven cooking include slow cookers?

  7. I think since we're alphabetically almost last, my event was left off ... you, however, shouldn't have any trouble sitting there ahead of the Wisconsin folks.

  9. Thanks for the 10-event rule information. I wondered if that might be part of it ... and also realized folks could find it on the calendar if they wanted. Only two days to go!

  11. You know, I'd been anticipating the same thing and wondered if I should say something about it ... the event you're referring to is the one *I'm* hosting! Part of me thought, "Hey, I want my cache on the very front page, seen by thousands of people," and the other part of me thought, "Uh yeah ... haven't ever done this kind of thing before and the number of people already signed up is about perfect." I went with the second thought, but would still be a little proud to see it up on the main page. Anyway, I'm excited that you're still planning on attending! I've made a few small updates to the cache page, so check it out again if you're not watching it already.

  15. If you're up for a beginning-of-summer event multi-cache, please take a minute to check out this charity cache I'm hosting for the Special Olympics. Yes, it's for charity and I'm hoping to get donations for Special Olympics (part of our Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraising campaign), but this event is free! Donations are totally optional (and always appreciated). There will be some neat law enforcement and geocaching-related prizes, including a brand new GPS unit - you know you'd find a use for a second one! Visit the cache page for the prize list. Don't let Seattle Seekers and nw climber get all the goods! Please join us! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=22066 Junebuggy/WeThreeJunebuggy stats and maps for Tukwila PD

  17. <> I had the same experience with my Civic ... three mph faster on the GPS unit. Maybe that explains why the Trooper said I was going 83 and the spedometer said 86/87? Haha ... not that I argued. Thanks for the question and responses - this was a discussion amongst family members. -Junebuggy.
