I believe I have a couple of these coins, however they are in storage and I won't be able to pick them up for a few days to verify. If I find that I do I will let you know. That is very thoughtful of you, ttis is one I have never seen before. People like you is what makes this world go round. You really made me smile. Keep On Caching! ~Valarie of sweetlife I was able to get to my coins over the week-end and I definitely have one Earn your stripes coin, it is silver - thought I had a gold one too and will keep going thru them. What is your offer? Sorry, am apparently not getting notifications from this thread. Am sending you a PM. Thanks!

Understanding New App's Cost
DragonflyTotem replied to DragonflyTotem's topic in Official Geocaching® apps
I guess that I'm still not understanding then what the difference is between the membership and the subscription? Do you need a separate subscription as well, or is this a mistake in the Apple Store listing? The In-app purchases listed on the App store include the old non-renewing premium membership purchase options. These are what you see as "3-Month Membership" and "1-Year Membership". They aren't actually available in the current version of the app, but we keep them around for anyone who still has an old version. The 2 called "Subscription" are just the current auto-renewing premium membership options(1 month and 1 year). Within the app it is much more clear, but we have less control over what shows up in the app store listing. However, I agree that the terminology is confusing and I'll see if we can change it to something less vague. Unfortunately, per Apple, we can't actually put the duration in the names, but we could probably change it to something like "Premium Membership" rather than "Subscriptions". Thanks, that is very helpful! -

With the ending of the classic app's demise fast approaching I am considering what app to use as a replacement. I frankly am confused by the explanation on the Apple App Store and am hoping for a quick and clear answer here. The app is free, but has listed in app purchases which include both Subscriptions and 1-Year Membership. Both are $29.99. So what is the difference between those? I have the premium annual membership - is that the same as the in app purchase 1-Year Membership? Now, to use all the features do you then in addition to the membership ALSO have to purchase a subscription? And is that subscription also an annual - meaning $29.99 X 2 to be able to use the app with all features?

My fantasy list is pretty short - I am looking for an Earn Your Stripes geocoin. I actually had one, but life and a divorce happens, and so am now looking for another. I'd even like to find two of them. Hoping to purchase, any chance that there are any roaming around out there?
-
I know that feeling! But nope, just me selling off some of mine -- and I've just listed a set of Solar Eclipse and Lunar Eclipse (one each!).

Not sure why as they all come up under a search on my end. But here are the links for the ones currently up: Brahean Mars: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130822227045 Brahean Neptune: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130822313071 Brahean Mars & Neptune 2-Coin Set w/matching serials: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130822244210 Brahean Lunar Eclipse: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130822259810 Brahean Antique Silver: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130822273882 In theory you should also be able to get to them all via my ebay store link as well. Thanks! Now i see the reason because i don't find them. "No Shipping to germany" That would be why my search also failed... Buy only shipping to the US you are cutting out a *Large* part of the Geocoin community, that equates to buyers ready to push the bidding up Okay, I hopefully have the whole international thing figured out and have relisted my Braheans! They should all appear in my store drdan's geocoins and as individual auctions at: Brahean Mars: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130824599745 Brahean Neptune: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130824601086 Brahean Mars & Neptune 2-Coin Set w/matching serials: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130824596439 Brahean Lunar Eclipse: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130824593498

Buy only shipping to the US you are cutting out a *Large* part of the Geocoin community, that equates to buyers ready to push the bidding up Yes, sorry about that but when I was setting up the auctions I had a heck of a time with what ebay has as available options for doing international shipping. I've not sold anything outside of the US on ebay, and only bought one thing from overseas, so don't really have the experience at that yet. And frankly I couldn't figure out from what options they gave me what the international equivalent of Priority Mail was. :-(

I do currently have some of my Brahean's up on ebay -- you can find them either through basic search, or by an advanced search and then my sellername: drdan01

I'm about to list a few of my Brahean Geocoins on ebay (I have pretty good mix of the entire series). If anyone is interested I'd be happy to either post a link or send it.

I'm coming to Vicenza the week of 30 July - 3 August and am hoping for a chance to meet any cachers located there!
-
I think that this is happening more often - both the reaction of the authorities, and the requests to shut down areas adjacent to airports. In my area there was a cache archived because the park it was in was directly next to the end of the runway (just a small lake that you could launch a boat in from the park was all that separated the boat landing from the end of the airport fence next to the runway). That park was closed at the specific request of Homeland Security.
-
And that's a specious argument. I never said that I didn't like the cache. I actually thought that the container was quite cool. But come on, that should have never been put into a sign. You know it, and VDOT knows it. It was just fine. Its a piece of PVC that would have crumpled with the pole if it were ever hit. A missile? Pffffft. I think that you should hire yourself out as a consultant then as you're acting as if you're an expert on all of this. I'm sure that VDOT would greatly appreciate hearing from someone who knows so more about highway engineering than their own folks. Not to mention having that ability to positively analyze the composition of objects simply by looking at a picture. That is truly impressive. Me, I never claimed to be an expert. That's why I asked VDOT about it.
-
Again, another specious argument. VDOT stated that they did not know. So how exactly would you force that hand then? And I didn't know that they didn't know. I was simply asking about a cache placed in a hole in a specific sign. I wasn't asking about caches in all of the VDOT world and had no reason to ask. I stated that I'd been previously told that it was okay to put them in for example, guard rails. The sign, that sign at that location was a whole different matter.

Close, but not quite. Those are both questions for which you cannot answer with a yes or no when neither of the answers would apply or would call for information to be given that doesn't directly answer the question. Has nothing to do with incriminating or not. They're called pre-suppositional questions and they're usually asked simply to embarrass the person being asked the question. Geeze... would you please relax? I wrote that in your defense. There is no need for you to correct me. What I said was close enough. Hey, sorry, you misunderstood. I didn't take your comment badly. I was just pointing that out as the difference between the to as I thought you'd appreciate the distinction. Guess I should have added a smiley face to make it clear. Sorry!

Tell ya what. Since you insist on deactivating your humor cells, That's the issue, everyone one of your "jokes" are not an attempt at "humor" but attempts at making fun of Micro's. It's really annoying. Especially if you like micro's. +1 Did you even read Clan rifsters post? He said he was NOT making fun of micros, and had no mention of them in his post. You are, my friend, jumping to conclusions and picking sides too quickly. +2 (simply worth more than a plus one as it addresses this comment as well as the general gist of many of the other posts here in jumping to conclusions)

You clearly have a problem recognizing sarcasm. Or are you also saying that misstating something which results in accusing someone of whatever isn't rude (as has been done here)? That does fit your replies. So, here's a question for you -- have you stopped beating your spouse? I think that question makes as much sense (and has the same purpose) as you asking your question.Yes, after she stopped breathing. So instead of posting a few letters.....yes or no, you decided to accusme of domestic abuse. Wonderful.I just want to know if you are proud of what you have done? Or do you wish things would have happened another way.FFS.No, I didn't accuse you of that. I asked a question. What harm is there in that? You're just asking a question. Sure, it isn't relevant and is nonsensical, but just a question. Well, actually now you're asking two questions and they would have nothing to do with each other. You asked a loaded question. Nobody here is dumb. But I edited my post for you anyways. Still you cant give me a yes or no. And I cant figure out why you have spent so long typing out multiple response, intead of typing 2 or 3 letters. Here, this applies to you: <SNIP> Close, but not quite. Those are both questions for which you cannot answer with a yes or no when neither of the answers would apply or would call for information to be given that doesn't directly answer the question. I do hope that you will pay close attention -- that again was sarcasm and made to prove the point that my pointless question was as pointless as his. And as pointless as your statement(s). I didn't "accomplish" anything here, there or anywhere. You don't like the fact that VDOT has demanded what they demanded, please give them a call. You don't like that I followed Groundspeak guidelines and what I was asked to do by reviewers, feel free to take them up with them. If you forget the above, just refresh your screen and you can read it over and over and over and over and over and over and over again!
-
And I'm sure that rape victims hear the same kind of statements. If only they'd just shut up, if only they wouldn't feel compelled to defend themselves when asked whether they think that they deserved it, or if they were proud of their actions. Same thing. This is why it is clearly not worthwhile trying to have a conversation. Like trying to discuss with a lynch mob. Reminds me that I really should stop reading my email and then coming back here!
