  1. So basically, no, virtual TBs are not allowed? If I were to post a vitrual TB, I would require cachers to only log in into a virtual cache and only while logging a find on it. I don't know. I just liked the idea.
  2. I think I already have an idea of what they are, question is are they still allowed? One of my brand new caches got stolen with a brand new TB in it. So I'm thinking - could I turn that tracking # into a vitrual TB?
  3. I, on the other hand, have been getting notifications for caches that I've never even heard of. Dozens of them a day. And this has been going on for a week or so. I too use gmail. WTH?
  4. PLEASE email it to me at vaddynwashere at gmail dot com thank you so very very much!
  5. I bought this: and it came w/o a log sheet. Is there a place I could download one? Or could you be so kind to email one to me? Please? Thanks, guys.
  6. I'm confused... I've read over and over how a whole bunch of cache types got cut and moved to Waymarking, yet this http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...c1-408a8c7601d8 has been listed yesterday. ? Am I missing something?
  7. Well... it's not like they care what other cachers think... If this is against the rules of this website - well, tell the admin and he'll kick them? Make them build their own website, and use their own resourses. If this is not against the rules, then screw them, let them do whatever they want. They're not your (or this community's) friends, you're not theirs... whatever? I don't see how this is a problem?
  8. Um... what's a pocket cache? Please don't ignore me, I really am trying to understand what all the fuss is about... Thanx.
  9. Ooh, I totally forgot that some people collect those. Thanks for pointing that out. Generic quarters (NOT dimes and nickels) are also quite worthy b/c they're parking money. This quarter dependency, btw, is even more frustrating after visiting Portland and Seattle. Both cities have adopted a very simple and effective method of collecting payments for parking - pay w/ a card, the machine prints a sticker for you and off you go. No more "aaaarrrrgh I left all my quarters at home". Other than that... something small and useful. I like Changes in Latitude's guitar picks. It's more than a swag item for me. Sooner or later a situation will arise when, sitting by the campfire in some remote location, b/w the 10 of us we'll have NO picks... and it will be put to use Paperclips are useful to me because I cache with printouts. Tiny pretty thingys, like charms and such... just cuz I'm a girl and I like tiny pretty stuff. Trackables - bugs, coins, fishies, dollars...
  10. Thanks. Duplex? What's a duplex? Like 2 pages side-by-side the "landscape" way, and same on the other side?
  11. So far (to me) pocket queries have only proved useful when i'm about to go on a major roadtrip and I'm gonna have my laptop with me anyways, so might as well read all descriptions and hints off of the database itself. In that case I can mass download a whole bunch of waypoint w/o really paying attention to what I'm downloading. Generally, though it's much more convenient to have a single piece of paper with like 25 caches printed on in in teeeeeny tiny print. And those better not have multiple DNFs or have been disabled for a while. So I have to hand-pick them for printing and then yes, I'd pull them from the preview 1 by 1 and manually select the information I'd like to print, which is always the same: coordinates, description and hint. So it'd be cool if I could export these three fields from the database itself into a simple txt and then print it in teeeeeeeny tiny print )) But I guess since everyone else caches with a PDA, there wouldn't be a mass need for something like this and therefore no such option would exist. Anyways. Thanks for the help i guess
  12. Oh I think you guys misread the question. I know how/where to order the travelbugs ONLINE. I was asking if/where there's a way to buy them in person. At a real store. Not vurtual...
  13. Yes, is there a more effective way of downloading caches into your own database than that?
  14. Preferably in the Bay Area, but Sacramento area would do too. I'm so sick of having to wait for a week before they deliver them...
  15. It's probably more convenient with a PDA. But they're expensive. And it's one more thing I would have to remember to charge. I've owned a cheap one before and it was dragging me behind... So for now I'm sceptical and woluld rather rely on paper.
  16. Like to extract infos of an X number of chosen caches to a plain txt file which would include: name, location, description, hint I mean I can do all that manually but after the 20th cache it gets annoying. Sometimes I can do away with the wap version of the site, but w/o a mobile internet plan I'm sure I'm gonna regret it by the end of the month )
  17. Nadia. 22. Piano teacher Found my first cache accidentally, 2 years ago. Actually it wasn't even me who found it. Anyways. After the find, got a GPS right away, but it was using a different system of coordinates or something. I tried to figure it out but none of my reasearch helped +the battery on the PDA died shortly after so I abandoned the idea. And now, after finally finding a GPS that is both cheap, and small, and light, I have returned to the game. I mostly cache alone. Neither my friends nor my fiancee find this interesting. Never met other cachers on site, but even if I did, I'm pretty pessimistic about making new friends because of the language barrier. I'm Russian. I'm pretty shy about my accent and it pisses me off when I can't say the right thing and have to resort to baby-talk ))) I'd like to thank everyone who was kind enough to help me so far! =THANK YOU=
  18. Containers drive me insane. I find them everywhere and I can't resist buying them. AAAAAAAARGH
  19. Joanns has them in 2 sizes. Large is suitable for a reasonably sized travelbug or a notebook, small fits a micro stash note and log strips folded in half. RiteAid sells them in for sorting pills, in the same aisle as their little pillboxes. RiteAid ones are DEFINITELY waterproof. You could tell by the thickness of the polyethylene ummm the clear plastic I mean.
  20. Where was this, do you by any chance remember?
  21. I vote for TBs. Here's why (besides the price difference). A brand new Travel Bug is a clean slate. No personality. No mission. Nothing. And you could make it into anything and send it anywhere. Look at all the travelbugs - each one is totally different from the other, each one obviously relfects the personality of the owner etc. A coin's identity is pre-defined at the time of minting. The list of its missions is pre-set as well. It would be ridiculous for me to buy a South Carolina coin and send it on a mission to, like... Russia... I've tried searching for coins on Ebay and on all the sites listed on Geocaching. It's hard to find something that I would identify with. And they cost a lot... So it's hard to find somethingreally worth buying. So... travelbugs! yeeeeeeeeey! I also vote for trackable dollar bills for the same reason. Cheap and totally custom-izable. (I don't think the latter was a real word, but you know what I mean)
  22. This would definitely be debated in another thread But makes sense to say it like this here. I agree. Wow the guy's devoted to this one cache. That's amazing. My first find was an accident. It made me really sad to find out that it is no longer active (( Oh, that just gave me an idea maybe they'd let me restore it if I asked. I guess I'll go email the reviewer and the cache owner.
