  1. Interesting thread. There is a handfull of debatants here. Compare it to the following: I think this speaks for it's self. You debatants means diddly.
  2. I write down all my logs in a word document. One separate document for each year. I also note the time of the log. This way I have a complete list of what and where. Then I copy paste the logs into my online logs. The main reason for this is the benefit of the buildt in spelling control, plus that I feel no pressure of timeout and I can review my log several times until I am happy with it.
  3. I recived 2 Insta Notifies this morning. There should have been at least 15.
  4. I now have lock on 5 birds, and still locating!
  5. I would say that the maximum distance would be the length of your cord from your gps'r to the computer, unless you have a wireless extention cord. Then the distance might be unlimited. If you states more accurate information about gps'r and browser and os, maybe you would have a more acurate answer.
  6. Deleting forum topics: No Deleting threads latest posts if it is your own: Ok And if that was the only post in the thread Ok, then delete the tread.
  7. As I understand there is a few Delorme caches out there that requires finding a given amount of caches and then you would be given the final coordinates. Requesting those by eMail. What is the difference? Make a mockup listing stating that if you are a nice guy I will give you the real coordinates? What is the point?
  8. Locked up two times for me so far. First time just monitoring the satellites with backlight set to 15 secs. Second time monitoring satellites with full backlight all the time plus navigating to a Geocache. At both occations the gps'r was sitting still in my window. Tracking on. I cannot reproduce the problem on demand.
  9. You could try this: Distance in meters Bearing in degrees Radius = 6376000 meters Latitude2 = ARCSIN(SIN(Latitude1) * COS(Distance / Radius) + COS(Latitude1) * SIN(Distance / Radius) * COS(Bearing)) Longitude2 = Longitude1 + ARCTAN2(COS(Distance / Radius) - SIN(Latitude1) * SIN(Latitude2); SIN(Bearing) * SIN(Distance / Radius) * COS(Latitude1)) or lookup fizzys GeoCalc program
  10. This is interesting. It is a PM feature here at GC. But if you sign up for an account with Garmin you get the same feature for free.
  11. Open two instances of of the GeoCalc program. Select projection. Fill in the coordinates and the bearing for each waypoint. Then start playing with the distance until you get matching end coordinates.
  12. Yes. Count me in on that one. In addition I would also like to be able to download the GPX Exchange file before activating the listing, so that I can verify the coordinates in my mapping program. The button is there but returns nothing.
  13. You just signed up? Joined: 22-June 05 Am I missing something or what is going on?
  14. I think he was trying to post this: http://zinnware.com/HighAdv/Geocaching/GPS...7_GPS_Tests.pdf
  15. Hello. I just took a look at the listings you had in the OP. Seems that all of them were microes except one that was mistakenly placed as regular. Most of them have no hints. Though difficulty rated low they may be difficult for most of us. Missing hints that is. And the few that had hints, most was to me not very clear. Also noted that some of them had no size selected. That may inidicate they were nanos. And if you have never seen a nano the search can indeed be tricky. I think you just was unlucky with your selection. Better luck next time.
  16. Maybe sligtly off topic, but here goes: GC1DBFX Here is the result from Send to GPS and this is the result from GPC eXchange File directly to the unit Send to GPS worked the same way with both a previous version of the Communicator and the latest version. Oregon 300 on 2.86 beta IE7 Vista 64 Is just me or what?
  17. BB-codes in the logs still work for me. As of today.
  18. I tend to ignore all caches in close proximity to private homes. It is of course easy to be stealhty hiding such caches, but retrieving them may be not. There are enough stories of the police have been called due to suspicious behavour. And I can think of several othe reasons to stay away from those caches.
  19. Just now: PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 45 seconds exceeded in E:\Inetpub\forums\GC\ips_kernel\class_db_mysql.php on line 457 PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 45 seconds exceeded in E:\Inetpub\forums\GC\sources\ipsclass.php on line 1111 For your information.
  20. And then why not a mandatory question on the logs? Why did you go and find this cache?
  21. Due to a disk crash on my old laptop I bougth a new one with Vista 64. On this computer I have 3.5 .Net framework. I dont't think I will install 2.0 and try to tweak the application to run on 32-bits. Pity that M$ is not more backwards compatible.
  22. Agree. Without the capability to produce Wherigo cartridges there is no use for this feature.
