  1. I like to drive my red Wrangler "Jeep" to the general location of a cache.. then use my "Feet" to go walk around and find it... a simple combo that's easy to say and remember
  2. 1. To take you to places you have never been to. This is probably the best one for me.. amazing that geocaching has me going to places so close to where I live but have never been to before (lol.. 'cause, before geocaching, there was absolutely no reason to go down that scary, unpaved, abandoned, god forsaken, gates of hell, back in the middle of nowhere, L.O.S.T. road). 6. The sense of accomplishment after finishing a hard challenge. Actually, I also feel pretty good even when I find the easy caches. 8. A way to get out of the house and exercise. My wife and I are really into walking and hiking, so geocaching fits very nicely with our current lifestyle. 9. The thrill of being "sneaky" right under the noses of muggles, who have no idea what you are doing. Yeah... this part is kind of neat too.
  3. I just purchased a Garmin 62s (which does have a compass) but I have found for the most part, it's probably not really needed in locating most caches. That being said, before I got this unit, I was using a regular car type GPS, and wouldn't you know it, I went to a multi-stage cache where once you reached the first stage point.. the next clue was "Walk 350 feet Southwest to locate the cache" (and I was like.. okay.. so which way is "Southwest" of where I am standing) - LOL... other than that one time, I haven't really needed the compass.
  4. testing.. testing.. 1.. 2.. 3.. is this thing on?
