  1. Leads me to believe you are a new cacher... Do note, that because you did not find the cache, you cannot assume that it is gone. Logging a "Did Not Find" log, alerts the cache owner to the possibility that it MAY be missing. Only the cache owner can truthfully determine that. I've been with the site for 2 years, there was one local that I was going to try but I never got around to it, then just recently thru another site it got me remembering I was on here. So basically I've been idle for about 2 years with this site.
  2. If I saw a cache was near it I would completely avoid it. You also would hope people wouldn't knowingly place a cache in an area with poison ivy. I caught a bad case of it moving logs that had been cut down in the woods. I used gloves the day I moved them. Piled them near the road. A month later I load them up with no gloves and I get the poison ivy. Had it so bad I'd wake up itching in the middle of the night. I tried so many things too to help it. I tend to want to stay away from thick woods now if I can help it.
  3. I just attempted a couple of caches today and didn't find them. One possibly could have been washed away in the hurricane as there was a few dead fish on land so the cache appeared on Google maps to be right in the bushes near the water. The other my GPS a Garmin nuvi 200 could not locate the spot because there was no roads near it. This one was in a park and ride area so thats not technically a road. Does anyone use their car mountable GPS or do you use the type hikers use? I want to get into this if I can but not if I have the wrong GPS, not in a situation to buy a specific one.
