  1. I'm also seeing the blank white maps page in Chrome tonight. IE 9 and Firefox work fine. Chrome just loaded maps again. I knew if I went and read awhile it would get back to what now passes for normal.
  2. With any luck at all I never see the full logs. Kind, prepared cachers often replace full logs and it is my preference that they toss the trash. That's what I do when I perform maintenance on my own caches.
  3. Chrome = white screen Please fix this. IE9 works but I prefer Chrome Firefox works but I prefer Chrome
  4. Fewer premium members = fewer hits on the maps = lower cost for those who stay
  5. I just tried it, and it's still using Google Maps. I don't see any differences from before the update. The Google maps is only on the first step. Then, it goes to the other maps. When I tried it the other map wouldn't even load. Just now it loaded. As long as the initial maps are Google so we can modify the first route supplied, it might be usable. I'm still in favor of a Premium/Google level membership for those of us who wish to pay for it.
  6. Charge premium members per 1000 hits. We could pay for the first thousand and then, when we get close we could re-up if we're finding them useful. You'd have to pay to play with the maps and what's not to like about that? No maps for those that don't pay. That would certainly cut the hits on the maps down in a hurry. Charge per thousand, in advance.
  7. Re the new maps (although we can hardly call them that): I clicked the "try it" link and got a nice array of icons with no map behind them. This is useful ... how? Just out of curiosity. What would the cost be, per premium user, to get the Google maps back? Just found the answer to my question? I too would be willing to pay to get the Google maps back. Charge me $4/1000? That'll work.
  8. I, too, would be willing to pay more for the best possible maps.
  9. What pray tell is this? And, how would I use it? http://adblockplus.org/en/ Then you add it as a custom element hiding rule in the preferences. Thanks. I'll wait to see if Geocaching takes care of it before I try to figure that out. I appreciate your reply.
  10. Re: Added a list of allowable HTML to create/edit cache page to assist cache creation Where do we find this? Thanks.
  11. Is there a way to turn this off, please? I would much rather see our current log activity at the top of the page. Thank you, Mrs. Car54 Yes. The link at the very top, with "Geocaches (Yours) ... is sufficient if we ever wanted to use this feature.
  12. Re: Removed Google Map API from user routes (CAaR) and replaced with Leaflet/open-map It would appear upon zooming in that these new CAaR routes use far fewer GPX points. That will make them totally useless for narrow searches along a route. When I plan a route for traveling some distance, I know that I will not wish to cache more than 0.5 miles (and sometimes less) from the highway. These new maps will leave sections of the route unsearched as the highway winds around and the straight-line search of the route chooses to ignore these curves. Google maps used to have this problem but have significantly refined and improved their maps. Now, you've chosen to return to the less useful routing. Why did you make this negative experience choice?
  13. Avatars in logs ... way useless. Dates for logs ... bring them back ... interesting and useful. I often need to find a cache I visited based on the date of find. Challenges ... let's see. Someone will get a Challenge point for dancing while I don't have one for finding a cache in every county in the state of California. Preposterous.
  14. I too could not find the update button yesterday. Then, when I checked just now there it was. I clicked it, it updated, it went away. Thanks for all the replies and the fun. Did you folks get out caching today? No reason to update if you don't find.
  15. I checked this morning and all is okay. Thanks for the feedback. However … Hmmm. I wonder where that might be? Since I had logged my finds earlier in the day and since kablooey’s stats had updated, I’m thinking it might be more often than that. Obviously, though, it isn’t instantaneous. Thanks again.
  16. My current "longest streak" is 29 days from 05/28/2011 to 06/25/2011. My statistics show "28 consecutive days with finds from 05/28/2011 to 06/24/2011" even though I found and logged caches today, the 25th. Others who have streaks going and cached/logged today (kablooey is an example) do not have this issue. Is there a lackey out there who can fix this problem? Thanks.
  17. May I ask what the age of the cache has to do with anything?? As we age we get grumpier and more resistant to change.
  18. Thanks for the information. I'd done a little investigating of the new setup but just missed it. I appreciate the response. Thank you very much.
  19. There used to be a link to the last 200 logs. Does that link and list still exist? The "last minute" crawler isn't quite the same thing.
  20. Seems to be working now although GC2PKXC still does not show as existing in Beta Maps while it shows up just fine in the otherwise currently useless Google Maps.
