  1. Thanks for the info. I already had a workaround but wondered if it was something "new" It was when I got it for a user with only 27 finds that I thought maybe I should ask. I'll watch to see if anything comes from the code review.
  2. This is a new (recent) problem to/for me. Click on the user name for some cacher. On profile page, click on Geocaches tab. On Geocache info for user:"user name," click on all cache finds link wait Often it then goes to "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding." It didn't used to do this, it used to go to their most recent finds. What's up?
  3. This would be very helpful when we travel.
  4. I ran into this problem a couple of days ago. Just checked ... problem still exists. "An Error Has Occurred" Please fix this, Thank you.
  5. I support the idea of a "Challenge Cache" category.
  6. I'd hate to see all the older placements disappear just because the owner stopped caching whatever the reason. Caches like Wyoming's "Caching through the years" GC1CM3A is just one example as to why they are needed. Heck, just the fact that they are part of the fun is reason enough. It would also be nice if there was a process for adoption of old caches where the owner no longer can be contacted. Until such happens, WRITE SHOP ROBERT has the right idea.
  7. When looking at my bookmark lists and go to page 2 or more of a list, I find the following message in red We could not locate that waypoint name in our system. It does not occur on page 1 of the bookmark list. Is this a bug? What does it mean?
  8. A bug unacknowledged or not is still a bug and needs to be fixed. A vague avoid-around doesn't seem useful to me. Thanks, though, for the link. Now I know they know and it doesn't sound like they are interested in fixing it. They just want us to be careful.
  9. What, pray, is there to maintain with an EarthCache? The same question applies to a Virtual. Signs get removed, geysers stop erupting, areas get closed, ... It's nice if a earthcache owner, if not local, does wander through the area of the earthcache from time to time to make sure the information and features are still accessible and still the same.
  10. Why, when I edit a previously run route query does the site reset the distance slider to 3.11 and the caches to 250 when I didn't change either of those during my edit????
  11. Sounds similar. The mileage setting and the caches requested setting were both changing. This was happening while I was editing the date range and wasn't touching the sliders. They just reset on their own. Ghost hamsters, perhaps? Does anyone ever want less than 500 caches in a Pocket Query?
  12. I had lots of Route Pocket Query editing problems this afternoon but just ran 3 tonight (between 10:15 & 10:20 p.m. PDT) without a problem. Maybe the problem whatever it was is in the rearview mirror.
  13. Today, while editing some route based pocket queries, the site is constantly resetting sliders ... distance to 3.11 miles and caches to 250. What's up and how do I get it to do it "right." I.e., different distances for each and cache count to 500? I've had no troubles doing this in the past but it seems to be resetting some sort of default today.
  14. http://afandpa.org/paper.aspx?id=511 Guess we know the real reason now -Raine Very interesting. Thanks. However, how this knowledge helps me read things when they are "too wide" is beyond me. The box, for this reply, however is a reasonable size.
  15. I was thinking the same, maybe they fixed this and thought it would looks better for people like me who use large screen. Previously it looked weird that the log input box was a small square at the left of the screen. Please wxplain why you don't particularly like it... I'm thinking that there is a reason why paper is 8.5 x 11. Then you can scan text with your eyes while reading and not have to move your head. If I wanted to move my head I'd go to a tennis match but head movement in reading just slows you down.
  16. What does one do with a large travel bug box? Besides carrying alot of travel bugs, that is.
  17. This happened fairly close to when Raine told me he had fixed the problem. Before I write up the bug as not fixed I'd like to hear more reports. Is the gigantic "comment box" the result of this fix? Not an improvement.
  18. Is this a result of the fix of the refreshing problem? I don't particularly like it.

    Google Maps

Click on "view map" on a listing and it returns a map with zero caches. ????
  20. I'm curious as to why folks think this would be useful. I'd be interested in the "real" reason. That, "we can go clean up the trash" is just so much hoo hah.
  21. Good Idea. It would get me to add benchmarking back into the trips we take.
  22. Perhaps someone with Admin in their identification could give us some information. I seem to be getting the rest of my mail so it doesn't appear to be the e-mail (gmail) account.
  23. Is there a problem with the Insta-Notify? I have not received notices of the last couple of traditional caches placed within the radius I specified. Are others having a problem with this lately?
