  1. On each cache listing in the links for Online Maps there is a choice called "Terraserver." When I clicked on the link I got the following. " We have changed our name! Microsoft’s free, public access data store of maps and aerial photographs of the United States that is currently known as TerraServer-USA has been renamed “MSR Maps” which is short for “Microsoft Research Maps” and relocated to a new URL at http://msrmaps.com. Please update your bookmarks. If your browser does not take you to the new site within fifteen (15) seconds, please click here. If you are looking for the commercial website operated by TerraServer.com (which is not associated with Microsoft) please click here http://www.TerraServer.com."
  2. Hey, that was interesting information. Thank you. I've often wondered why folks make lame caches PMO caches. Most of them aren't anything special. At least now I have a reason. Seem lame but it is a reason.
  3. Capitalizing each word makes them pretty easy to read, too.
  4. Nope. I did have the occasional backspace if I stopped concentrating.
  5. Interesting. I wonder if it would revert if I was searching for something else on Google. I don't search for topics on the Groundspeak forums. I just troll around looking for something interesting to read. The most interesting today appears to be the constantly recurring desire to pq archived caches so they can rush out to retrieve the geolitter ... yeah right. I can't help but wonder what the real agenda is.

  7. That's a fine idea. Usually I download a 500 cache pq and then go find about 7 of them. That's why I wonder why folks need 1000 cache queries. I must not be doing something right.
  8. Yep, that's what it does. That's new and I don't particularly like it. PTB ... please fix it. Thank you.
  9. And the problem appears to be fixed as well. Grand. Thanks. I'm thinking it would be best if I stay away from the forums when I'm grumpy.
  10. I've run no forum searches as I know of the "short word problem" but the thread display had been changed somehow ... I'm sure I did something untoward. Thanks for promptly diagnosing my problem. I appreciate the prompt service. That outline view is totally useless. Now to see if the original issue has been resolved. Thanks again.
  11. So, I went to that link. Would the poster of the quote above like to enlighten me as to how I'd go through that 3 pages of links-only to find the one pertinent to my question since they are not labeled in any useful way?
  12. A couple of days ago I reported a problem I found having to do with clicking on one cache type in a profile or nearby caches of this type. All I got was "go look at the release notes." Does anyone like the new way of listing all the comments. There isn't an easy way to find the discussion of my issue within all the other discussions. It used to be that you could scroll through all the comments and, often, find comments pertinent to ones own particular issue. Now, you have to click on each and every link as the "first sentence" of each post ... often the quote from before ... is all that one can see. This is not conducive to finding out what's what with any issue. edited to remove unwarranted grumpiness.
  13. Go to the “Geoache Information for User: …” page. Any user they all have this problem Click on the “All Geocache Finds” link and view all their finds. That’s okay. Click on the Traditionals link … view all their finds. That's not what we used to find. Click on the Virtuals link … view all their finds. We used to be able to view just their virtuals logs. Try the same thing for their hides. Want to see just their Unknown hide? Not possible. It used to be until this latest update.
  14. This is not listed as something that was fixed. I thought this would be the correct place to list something that is broken.
  15. I’m on the page for an Unknown cache. I click on the “that I haven’t found” link of the “nearby caches of this type.” I get all caches I haven’t found instead of the expected Unknowns only. Same problem for a traditional and for a multi-cache. Windows Vista, Internet Explorer 8
  16. Part of the fun of the game is getting to the cache to sign the log. The last time I came upon one of those I went home, got a ladder and a spotter, went back and signed the log. Logging a find without signing the logsheet is like discovering a travel bug.
  17. Thanks for your help. That's exactly what it was! However, I don't understand this. I KNOW, that ALL THREE boxes WERE CHECKED! When I went back, NONE were checked. That's weird! Thanks again! I'm now waiting to be published. YAY! Everytime you go back to edit a listing the bottom two boxes are unchecked. You have to re-check them if you want to edit your listing. That is not the case with the other box.
  18. Carry replacement logs, put them in without mentioning that you did. The twit is looking for attention ... withdraw it.
  19. What happens if you don't save it until you have it the way you like it? I am trying to route a back road trip across the entire state of Iowa. Being from a computer back ground I learned to save my work often, when I saved it after a small portion of the trip it saved it but then going back to it to continue on and the route moved back to a major road and not where I put it. Do I need to do the whole route and not save small parts? Thanx Bill I don't save it until I'm happy with it. Give it a try, you've got nothing to lose but a few minutes.
  20. We have local challenges to find caches not found in 6 months or not found in the last year. To sort for this would be very useful.
  21. The only basic members that I cache with are grandsons. They only cache when they go with me. It would be silly to have a premium membership for kids 6 - 12 years of age who might log less than 10 PM caches a year. I'd guess that very few PM adult cachers allow BM adult cachers to log using the backdoor. It's way too tedious for that. It's the kind of thing you'd only do for your kids or grandkids.
  22. Find a bug? Take a bug. Have a bug? Drop a bug. Same day, same time, same place? Hardly ever. The important word in travel bug is travel. We appreciate it when folks place caches large enough to hold multiple trackables. What we'd really appreciate is if the owners of the caches would check the inventory regularly and mark-as-missing any bugs that aren't there. Worse than a travel bug hotel with no bugs in residence is a travel bug hotel with a long list of travel bugs in the inventory and no bugs in residence.
  23. Thanks for the maps. Cool. I hadn't seen the publishing of the Paradise event by N.U.T.S. They are a most friendly group and they were the hosts for the first event we ever attended. We compare their acceptance of new cachers to their events as the standard. Everyone is made to feel welcome. We will definitely make it to that one. After all, according to mtn-man, it's all about the visiting and the N.U.T.S. event will be the best for that. Whether we go to more than that one remains to be seen but by asking the original question I found exactly the event I was looking for. It happens to be outside my event-notification circle and I might've otherwise missed it. Luckily we've only found ~50 caches in Paradise so there will be plenty of caching opportunities. There are more than 50 caches we've not found within 4 miles of the event. Outstanding. Now off to log my "Will Attend" note.
