Got a notification thru the App for the 02022020 souvenir, it seemed like a good idea to send our the notification, only problem was it was received on the 03 feb 2020, a bit late to do anything about it. I know what the problem is- it may have been sent out on 02 Feb local time by Groundspeak, but there are other places on the planet who are in different timezones that are ahead of Groundspeak time.....

Been using the new lists, quite like it.
Recently when I select to map a list, shows a map of the caches in the list, but as soon as I zoom in or out it then reverts to all caches in the area, not just the list caches

Came across a neat app for programming chirps, called ANT+ plugin sampler, it will download all the stored data including the serial number of the device used to program it. If you like you can even reprogram it with your cell phone.
So what do you need, Can't speak for iPhones as the app is for android, but I used a Samsung Galaxy S6, I believe HTC also support ANT+ and will work

I'm visiting Auckland until mid-February, and would love to be able to do the power trail that is around the Riverhead reserve, north of Auckland. I don't have a vehicle, so if anyone is planning on going up I would love to tag along (and pitch in for petrol, of course!)
This is the first cache in the trail: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC2P7BK
Your best bet is go to www.gps.org.nz and post in the forums there, more NZ geocachers visit there then here

For quite a while i've had a PQ running once a week that gave me the results for my finds in the past few weeks.
It would arrive in my email, with a winzip file attached containing the PQ.
Anyway now the email arrives, but no attachment, telling me it's available for for download. It's not problem logging back in to GC and going to the right place to download it, but it's just so much simpler to click on the attachment that used to be in the email.
So anyone got any idea on what's gone wrong and how to fix it?

I'm wanting to set up a new multi, but some of the WP's are quite near to existing traditional caches.
The final point is well away from any others.
My question is how close can I have the WP's to existing caches without the cache been declined for publishing?

Hi all any ideas on which would be the best h/h gps unit to buy?
Im a newbie and keen to explore some more , have found 3 without a gps but need one for the more serious caches.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Thanks
Stated out using a car gps, worked ok, but a bit awkward, using gps while carrying the printout of the cache you are looking for. Get a gps that has paperless geocaching, there are several types that do this.
Been using a Colarado 400i for several months now, fantastic to use, cuts way down on the paperwork, but there are other ones that work just as well

Oh dear, is this topic already going to go off the rails?
for now I will give the benefit of doubt to the McCCC's about their offer
I don't think handing out answers, ( I have been asked before) without someone at least giving the puzzle a decent try is really too great; and I really don't see what satisfaction there is in just racking up numbers... why bother with signing puzzle logs, if you don't like or try to do them?
BUT in some cases, after attempting & struggling, and just not being able to grasp a concept, I think it would be OK to tell someone the solution.. NOT so they can just run out and "score" but so they may see how it works & learn something new.
Of course there is nothing like the "aha!" moment
Puzzles are fun! signing the log is just a ...a.... oh blast! i can't think of the word, LOL! spent my ration of brain cells doing puzzles
All i've set out to do is provide a bit of help in solving some of these puzzles, rather than just dishing co-ords for the locations. In return maybe some others will provide a pointer or 2 on how to solve some of these. Hey it takes all the fun out of it if you are just given the answer, but like a lot of people out there some of the puzzles are quite challenging and we just don't have a clue, so a shove or push in the right direction goes a long way to people keeping their sanity.

Here a few solved ones, message or email me if you want clues on the answers or the actual answer

After yesterday puzzle event in Hamilton I've come to the conclusion that there are lots of people in the Waikato who are having difficulty with puzzles.
How about those interested subscribe to this topic and we can post our questions, answers and hints here.

I'll start the ball rolling..............
The first one is CHERUB: Basic Training GC1GHPZ, I've got to the 1st waypoint, got the slip of paper with the substitution key (or part of) along with encrypted co-ords for the next way point, no clue on how to use the key or how to decode the co-ords, although I can make an educated guess at what some of the words are
The 2nd one Alex Rider goes Geocaching GC1F92N, As a few of us at the meeting we have all figured the code, and arrived with a set of numbers which don't seem to mean too much, anyone care to fill us in on how we can apply these numbers to obtain the co-ords?

I understand that it was, but sending a notification AFTER the fact is really pointless, and just to show the same thing has happened for the Feb 29th, received the notification on the 1st March.
