  1. SF1 - thanks for the rapid response. I think I'm going to make lots of rookie mistakes as I enjoy GCing. You were a big help, and the TB is logged.
  2. I just found my first TB and can't seem to figure out how to log it: Travel Bug is Rescue 8111 Ref # TBG150 But when I try to log it I get: "Sorry. The Travel Bug code does not match." Any help would be appreciated.
  3. SADP ... that worked! Thanks so much for the help. The first version of EasyGPS I downlaoded didn't support the 76CS and USB...but the latest one does. When I used Internet Explorer instead of the DREADFUL MSN browser, I had no more file extension problems. Did I mention I HATE MSN ????
  4. SADP Thanks so very much for the help...It worked! Did I mention that I HATE MSN ?
  5. Yes, I found the latest version and it does allow USB connection. Now My problem is that when I download waypoint files from geocaching.com they arrive on my computer with an .aspx file extension. I think they should arrive with a .gpx or .loc extension ? EasyGPS will not open the files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Thank you all for the responses. I am making some progress I think. I do have MapSource and I did get EasyMPS. Now I have another problem. My home computer is CHANGING the file extensions during downloading of the waypoint files from geocaching.com. I know these are supposed to be .loc files, but when I receive them they are .aspx files. I think this is some sort of html file format? Does any body have any suggestions? thanks again...
  7. Can anyone recommend a software package that will download waypoints via to a Garmin GPSMAP 76CS via a USB connection. I tried using EasyGPS but it only seems to allow tranfers via serial port. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks
  8. I'm brand new to geocaching and am trying to find a software program that will work with my Garmin GPSMAP 76CS to download waypoints. I tried using EasyGPS but can't figure out how to configure it to work with the USB port (the only option it gives is the serial port. Am I doing something wrong, or do I ineed to try another software package? Thanks... TheRevelator
