Maybe we can track down cachers in the UK and US who have worked with their respective agencies to see if we can proactively provide SANParks with a policy which marries the current Groundspeak guidelines with a SANParks policy? We should not need to reinvent the wheel.

Apart from the price, the Monterra actually looks like my ideal device. I have always wanted an Oregon which can connect via wifi to pull down new GPXs etc. With the Monterra on top of Android it could allow for some very interesting applications. Certainly a very handy device to have whilst abroad and I think the wifi won't be proprietary but it will act as a standard IP device.

Ok, I may be guilty of bumping an old thread but here goes...... A slightly different approach. Here is a great log that I received recently. A virtual prize for guessing who wrote it (no cheating now by looking it up or mentioning who it is if you have read it already). I knew a man once who sort of understood this whole Galaxy and Milky Way Business. He wrote a book about it, seriously he did, but people did not take it serious at all. I think I need to go and lie down for a while. My mind feels like the effect of which is like having your brains smashed out with a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick. So long, and thanks for all the fish, I mean, favourites, I mean caches, I mean.... Uh... I need to go and lie down, I think... A second prize of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster exists if you can translate..... Certainly beats a 'TFTC'.

Orpheus is always a winner and as you mentioned the KB Caves are great. Scramble-wise - one can't beat Spring Buttress but I would suggest an early start. Not sure the weather is playing ball for top of the mountain stuff.

Watch out if you are taking photos in the TMNP. Clamp down on taking of personal photos ! Bit of a bizarre world we live in....

Would be awesome if we could do it! All of them are right up at the top of my to-do list before I leave at the end of the year. Anyone with any experience want to comment on the feasbility of something like that? Am away 17th/18th September as well as 3rd/4th [:|]. Dungeon tour? Certainly doable, but will be a killer on the knees - padding required. I do not think you would want to do it if it is too wet. If it is wet it would also make CMR a bit more interesting.

I must admit, the road was a bit worse than I remembered and although one may have been able to bypass a couple of the nasty stages it was definitely high-clearance 4x4 country. I am still limping around after the two-wheeler incident, but great fun was had by all.

I was wondering if this tread was still alive, as I was thinking about commenting on some fantastic logs I received on GC30750. Great to get such brilliantly creative narratives. It certainly makes for some truly entertaining reading. Thanks for all the effort on the logs (sure beats a T.F.T.C). Congratulations again on the FTF.

I did not find it too challenging. Most of the roads are logging tracks. Certainly nothing like Matroosberg. Do not know the CR-V, but definitely a Freelander would cope.
