  1. No No No We need tthe Souvi now so we can complain about it.
  2. Don't know about Frontline but K9 Advantix is made of Permethrin and I swear by it (Permethrin that is). I spray it on my caching outfits and it kills any ticks that get on my pant legs.
  3. This is actually a Google problem. This is actually Google providing those results. The site uses the Google API to get its location data. You can see it yourself by first Googling the zip code and checking the map and then searching Tryon, NC and view that map. Edited to remove "problem" because it could well be that Google is correct about the location of the zip code. On a serious note, I do a lot of desktop demographic studies at work and have long ago reconciled the differences between towns and zip codes. In my own town, there is a neighborhood that was somewhat cut off from the rest of the town when the state rerouted a highway. That neighborhood is serviced by the next post office over, just because logistically it makes a lot more sense for the mail trucks. So although they are in our town, pay taxes to us and go to our school, the have the zip code of the next town over.
  4. Is it actually a problem or just an anomaly? You posted before my edit. LOL, the dog was napping.
  5. Why benchmarks? They do not get counted for anything now, yet most that I have encountered are far far more difficult (I was going to say challenging but decided not to) than film can in lamp posts.
  6. Agree. Except that I have already become bored and disillusioned with Challenges and won't likely be going out of my way for them.
  7. The ones I have come across so far are pretty lame. I am not impressed thus far with the whole thing.
  8. Well, no. I don't really like seeing the default avatar when few of the recent finders have set their own avatar images. But I actually like seeing the avatars of those who have set them. I'd bet you a cupcake that people who presently have no avatar will now consider making or getting one so that they won't be a blank face.
  9. I thought that you already established (like back on your third post in the thread) that the avatars do not appear if you use the "print with logs" button. I like the avatars showing on the page. Looking at some caches I've now seen hundred of avatars of people I know from logs, instead of just the dozen or so regular posters in here.
  10. Rivers would be the one I would expect most, though a river that is less than 528 feet wide is not much of a river. Interstate highways might count.
  11. Just as a matter of record, the Magellan Explorist GC is waterproof, but is does not float on its own. I have first hand knowledge (luckily the river was clear and shallow).
  12. I had found a user named Nikon-Ing. It is a family. Looks like they are splitting up the account. How totally un-devious.
  13. I suspect that it is because they can be labeled, much like smart-phone users can be "labeled". I have no way of knowing if caches placed by scouts are any better or worse than any other caches. I especially don't know how they compare to caches placed by non-scout kids. I've found no scout related caches, but I've found plenty of crappy caches placed by grade school kids.
  14. Oh Snap! Don't they at least have to post a picture of the tree for Nikoning? No, that would be an ALR.
  15. Not allowed. If there's no log to sign, it's not a find. Shouldn't be encouraging cachers to log... Granted, that may not have been the greatest wording, but that was before it got archived and it does appear that noone ever took him up in his offer. And besides, there is no rule that says you have to sign anything
  16. Yes you can. But if it was archived, then, you, as CO, should have retrieved the container. Looking at the logs I think I misunderstood the scenario. The cache was stolen and archived. I do believe you can log to an archived cache. Are they logging the find then deleting the log? Nikoning sounds like they are looking at photos and claiming finds. edit: Are the finders in Germany?
  17. LOL I will watch to see how you do with the suit. Could be an event worth driving to.
  18. Yes you can. But if it was archived, then, you, as CO, should have retrieved the container.
  19. I've only got a few caches that can hold TBs. They dont get found very often. If I saw a TB in mine for a long time, I would consider picking it up. Especially if I could help with its mission.
  20. The military markings are stenciled on with some pretty weak paint/ink. It will come right off is you wipe it with nail polish remover.
  21. They have to get really really hot to melt. How about glow sticks? Maybe the kind that connect to themselves to make necklaces.
