  1. Got stung by a bee today while grabbing for a bison tube. Joys of geocaching sometimes
  2. If you save it as a draft on the app, it will save the day automatically on the website
  3. What usually works for me is uploading a picture on my draft at gz, and the pic will work. Maybe the problem is that the pic file is too large?
  4. That is the other thing, no one has STILL logged it, and the CO has not put anything on the page. It's so strange!
  5. I should have specified, the CO lives around here, she is going on vacation to the US. She is a very active cacher in my area
  6. Hello! So I just had a bit of a weird experience. There was an event posted for today near me, that was supposed to be a quick half hour event. In the description, the CO said that the event was to end at 5, because she has a plane to catch (yes, it was near an airport). Anyways, the CO didn't come. It was outside, and I sat outside for about 30 mins ( 20 mins left during the event, 10 min after it ended (?)). There may have been others as well, because there were a few people in their cars in the parking lot, but I was the only one sitting at the picnic table at gz. The CO put a note on the page saying they are in traffic, but that was posted right before the start time, and still hasn't updated the cache page, 2 hours later. I don't know what to do. I am going to message the CO, but is it okay for me to log it? Go ahead and debate lol
  7. It's funny to read the last message, because my longest slump is 15 days I believe (on project-gc). Guess why? I had covid lol! I grabbed a cache after work, and then a couple hours later found out about a 'close contact'. I had symptoms a few days later, and found out that I had it. It is true that is a negative stat and I don't really like that it is there, but I use it as an incentive to not make that number any bigger. I suppose that only works for me because it is only two weeks. I am also kind of impressed that in almost 4 years, I only missed 15 days. Obsessed much lol!
  8. Hello everyone and happy holidays! Looking outside at all the snow, I am dreamin' of a geocaching summer vacation. I am thinking of going to Seattle and then taking the train to Portland. I wouldn't be able to rent a car, so is there another way to get to APE cache in Seattle, and the original plaque near Portland? I looked it up on google, and it says that there isn't public transportation. Is there a way to get to both amazing caches without a car?
  9. Going to do it the ole fashioned way , by walking around. I live in the city so I just turn it on when I am 'nearby' to hopefully figure out which direction Thanks again for the tip to get Wherigo on my phone.
  10. Thank you so much! My app wasn't working for months and driving me insane! This worked. I have googled this and not gotten anywhere, so thanks! There is a reverse in my city that I haven't done, and now I will
  11. On the app, go on 'Lists' and it will be there. Click on the circle (i believe) beside it to download. That always works for me.
  12. Me too! I noticed it last night when I was trying to log a cache. It did show up on the app saying that I found it though.
  13. I have tried to use the caches along the route feature but I want to see if I pick specific spots to do the caches. I take the bus, so I was thinking that I would like to have specific points where it would show the caches nearby, but only at the bus stops (within like 5 km). Is there any way to do this without creating a pocket query for each of the stops?
  14. I find that if I have a lot of PQs already downloaded, it doesn't always work to do new ones. Go through the lists on the app and see if you have a lot already. If I delete old ones that I don't need anymore, it usually works for me
  15. I've done it, not sure if it's the most efficient way.... You search for all the caches in the area, and then do a 'find' on your computer and put the specific letters you need. It should highlight the ones that have that combination. I did that for a challenge that I needed just one more to qualify for
  16. I have actually found all three of those! One of them was replaced in Sept so it is probably there; the other two do have other dnf's before yours. If you need a hint, you can ask the CO for one. I also think it's a good idea to watch the pages and see when it is found again. Sometimes the logs have hints on them so it's a good idea to read them. Don't be discouraged! Keep on caching! Guelph has an active geocaching community that has a lot of caches! I don't live there, but I have family there so I cache a lot in that city
  17. The logs I have a cache based off my favorite show, Psych. Some of the logs are generic, but some have been from fans of the show! It's great to read about how people enjoy the show, with some people saying they made a special trip :)Always great to read
  18. I started a multi today, that is from like 2005. I walked over to stage 1, and the information is now in a school (I guess, it would be considered a private grade school/daycare) property. You have to go through the fence, near the school to get the info. There is the outdoor play area right there as well. I'm assuming the daycare was not there when the multi got published. I walked there today, and there was a ton of kids in the yard, so of course, I didn't go. I came back later, and they were all inside, but there was a woman sitting at the door (I assume for children pickup time). I told her that I wanted information from the bell that was in their yard and I quickly took a picture. I was thinking of putting it as a NM because the information isn't readily available. Probably best time is out of school hours. Since it's such an old multi, I don't want anything to happen to it! Thanks! Sorry! I was just asking if you guys think I should put a NM on it. The CO came on to the website recently but haven't found a cache in a few years.
  19. Mine does that too, with my chrome book. I wasn't sure if others were having this problem.
  20. I maybe should of said; the canoe is (probably) an art installation. Its a shell of a canoe (no bottom) that has an opening that can be walked into from the side. It is a 4 difficulty. The hint says that it is magnetic and to go inside the canoe. It is an 'other'. I went inside, I only saw one place where it could be that is not on the ground. I checked there and not there. Under the canoe, there is a small space all around that has tons of garbage and apparently needles. When I was there, there was an empty wine bottle sitting in the canoe on the ground. Lots of logs in the past have mentioned the needles and garbage. There has been some finds on it, but not since November when the CO enabled it. The enable log says to 'wear gloves and bring a TOTT"
  21. Hey everyone! I have been debating something for the last couple of days, and so I thought I would bring it to the forums. There is a cache near me that has received many logs saying that there are needles and garbage, in the area where the cache is hidden. Many DNF logs saying that they couldn't find it/didn't search for it for that reason. The last OM was last year in November. Since then, 3 DNF logs have been logged and no finds. I went for this cache a few days ago, expecting to file a NM log. I searched for it for 10 mins, looking around. Tons of garbage under the canoe (which is on a hill, it's a display, not in water ). I didn't see any needles, but many people have reported that they have seen some. I then left a DNF and a NM log, stating that the CO should check that it is there, (3 DNFs before mine) and if it is safe to get. The CO deleted my NM. I am torn about what to do. I considered making it a NA log, that way, the reviewer will see it and then deal with it. The only thing is, I can't be sure that it is under an object, where the garbage and needles are. I messaged the CO, saying that they should maybe change the location of it to a tree or something nearby so that people can still see the (semi) touristy location of the cache. They haven't responded yet, but it has only been a day. Thanks!
  22. I submitted before the snowstorm. But yes, good advice Sometimes it is easier to look for a cache in the winter for this reason.
  23. Last year, I submitted one at the end of Nov. It took around a week to get it published, and the reviewer said that they were waiting for the snowstorm to end (or something like that). I was impressed
