So, here's a little tale of joy...
About 15 months ago, I made a second attempt on GCP91N. Let's be fair, it didn't go very well: for all my efforts, I got many newly acquired scratches, a DNF and lost my GPS 60 somewhere in a lot of extremely unpleasant gorse. I chose to write it off as lost, but left a hopeful note in case someone stumbled across it one day - and, if nothing else, it had my name and number on the startup screen.
(as it happened, I was looking for an excuse to get a new GPSr, but that doesn't make it any better to lose an expensive bit of kit)
Now, wind forward to yesterday and I get a call from mrplenty, who tells me that a group went to look for GCP91N and, astonishingly, Team Kuckuck had uncovered a rather battered GPS 60 which, with a set of new batteries, turned out to be mine. So, with a little help from Mrs Scothog, SummitPlummet and Original A1, it's now sat on my desk with only a bit of a battering to show for spending an extended period in the great outdoors.
So, huge thanks to everyone who was involved - it's great to know that the spirit of geocaching is friendly, open and supportive. Cheers guys!
