  1. No! dont do that, just play the way that is the best statement of you.Ive noticed from July to now a different tone for lack of a better word in the forum, also alot less new people posting lately.I think its because its been so intense in here lately and the hot debates and overall tone lately is keeping the newest members from sharing here it seems,or maybe its just the way it cycles here...I hope the hot topics are not the reason.....I've seen a big difference since July.
  2. Those who r after numbers perhaps... Really though this topic could be found anywhere in life, its no surprise to me to see a variety of ways people express themslves in a public forum.Personally I wouldnt use the term.My code of self conduct is simple..Everything you say,do and think is statement of who you are.But thats just me...the language in question depends alot on context as well.
  3. Lotta bricks on that wall... Sorry to interrupt again, but how many of us following this thread would have been on that wall like butter on popcorn? LOL!! Wholly! Its like live chat now.I read the last post click out and theres another..can we at least setup a schedule for pee breaks?
  4. Hehe.. Congrats! What is it about this game? From the 1st time I heard about it there was something about it that appealed to me at such a deep level I ran out and bought a GPS I saw on sale.....that was a mistake and another story though.Anyway,I don't get out as often as I like but I will be doing it everywhere I travel, and I'm betting I'll see some cool stuff not found in any tourist info.Anyway, everytime I read one of these posts I feel like I did the 1st time I went out.Good to hear always!!!
  5. As far as I know...most of the Millionaires who play leave nothing as swag, and they take nothing. That's how you become a Millionaire, by not wasting your money on Crap, like the rest of us clowns I know or have known quite a few millionaires... My Dad was a Doctor and while he certainly didn't several of his friends qualified. I worked for Desi Arnaz on his horse ranch. The owners of two huge trucking companies belong to my hunting club, etc. One thing that is common to all of them is that unless you know that about them, you would never know. I met Arnaz in, I think, 1972 while he was pumping gas in his raggedy '64 Ford Falcon. Two-day growth of beard and in 401 Levi bib coveralls, I had no idea who he was until I went to his place weeks later. All of the millionaires I know are like that. I know a few folk whom I suspect qualify as millionaires, but it isn't a question you ask and they ain't sayin'. Think about it and you likely know some millionaires too... but the point was that you had to think about it, they didn't announce it by putting Blackberries in caches! The folks I have met who DO act like millionaires, throw swank parties and live flashily in the public eye are in fact so far in debt they'll never get out... partly because they think flash earns respect. As was mentioned earlier, few folks get (or stay) rich by spending their money! I can say with some feeling of certainty that if any of them were to geocache they would not trade. They might leave geocoins at most. They may take a helicopter to the hunting camp, but once there they'll fit in and be perfectly at home with us mortals! And, I've met Jeremy... This has been my experience as well. The owner of the company I'm with is one now but one would never know it.He was the CEO of the company I used to work for and invited me for the start up of his own.He just seems to love the challenge of building the company, lives in the same house, nice but not high end. I take way more time off each year then he does.I think its different when someone has started from scratch and built it,opposed to the Mega rich by birth or the celebrity who finds themselves commanding $20 million a film over night.....funny how that works and how it effects people. If I came into millions I'd probably just keep an appartment, the rest of the time I'd be in an RV living in parks..... a nice GPS collection might be the only giveaway
  6. ahhh! ahhhh! get it offa me! it burns! it burns! Oh goodie - I just can't wait for the first "inflating your friend's stats" thread. (say that 3 times fast!!) inflating your friends stats thread inflating your friends stats fred inflating your friends frats sted
  7. I think you have the wrong thread, what your proposing would only give us world peace. Seriously,I think your right on the money. The Internet has shrunk the world. In a forum like this you can have the reality of high power business person rubbing elbows with the reality of someone who has lived in a quiet rural setting all they're lives. The Geobeacon thread is a good example of how regional customs can vary in neigboring states let alone the world. So in mom and pops rural reality its like...well we'll just ask these nice folks on here how to do it...the well meaning fast paced business guy wants to help so he types this:(link)..well...not quite what mom and pop are used to when they ask for help in they're reality...but had it been someone from the business guys reality they would have been tickled pink at the brief info....not quite sure where I'm going with this except maybe its helps to zoom out a bit with this stuff and be as empathetic as you can be.
  8. ....sigh.......well......... you folks can head out,I'll sweep up and turn out the lights.
  9. I agree. We're lucky to have Moose Bob and Keysteve both! Indeed we are!I also mean the members as well. This is only the second active forum that I have been involved with as far as the page moving more then once a day, compared with the last experince...I'm very impressed how people here respectfully debate topics......I see some dull axes being carried over to the next topic sometimes...but still overall....A really great group has gathered here I believe.
  10. I've been thinking this for days now and for what its worth it was the right decision.I for one one have actually learned alot from this thread regarding guidelines and what it takes to hold all this together.Actually I'm amazed how well it has gone, and how few times..as Moose Bob said so well..people had to be refocused on beating the dead horse and not each other. There is a good group here at the end of the day.
  11. no, actually it's not odd at all. go ahead and check the number of threads started by someone who gets the answer they asked for and depart while others hang out and keep talking. ohoh...k peeps best be checking on your lemmings.......
  12. It is odd.....the OP is premium member,so if its a prank its a $30 one.....sumptin stwange goin on
  13. ya I tend to agree. Hey OP,are you sure your not the target here...? and the caches are just a weapon? Are you and your friend part of a bigger circle of friends?Do they know? If so what do they think? If not,why not make it known and see if a peer group will sway him,or you may find out indirectly why he's doing this......more to this story...has to be.
  14. Let's try out the non-euphemistic words for parts of the female anatomy and see what the forum moderators think of them. You first. do you mean the proper terms, or the slang terms? i'm all for calling things what they are, and if we're talking about a thing, not relying on silly euphemisms. i am reminded of a friend of mine who was called by her son's school on a day when they wished to inform her of his (to their way of thinking) unfortunate use of some language. "did he use it properly?" was all she wanted to know. they had to admit that he had. while there's no merit in being crude for its own sake, nor playing to prurient interests, there's no reason we can't have a few laughs. no matter what the prudish say, fart jokes are universal, as old as life itself, and apparently not confined to humans as a species. while it isn't the height of sophistication in humor, it's certainly not beyond the pale. teehee...you said fart...hehe This is my view also.Words are powerless. It takes people to add energy and context to them, positive or negative.Your EP cache sounds great!!
  15. And that Dear ones is the loop that this thread is stuck in. So... Nomex was misinformed? Nope! I'm not saying that at all Clan. The truth is I,and I'm sure many have been swaying back and forth as this has unfolded and different parties have weighed in.The reference to the loop was just that, its looping now.I think I have been neutral because I've had to take pause so many times as its played out. As it stands now,I'm thinking "something" got settled hometown style....The only unknowns now are if the cache was there or SF got trumped by a card thats not in our members deck, thats where it starts to loop... I hate the thought of it either way.
  16. And that Dear ones is the loop that this thread is stuck in.
  17. Would that keep you from enjoying finding it? Of course it would. Solving a puzzle is much more satisfying than being handed the answer. But I was asking the question from the point of view of the cache owner: Assuming I'd spent a year building some brilliant cache concept, why would I want to resubmit it after the secret was out? The whole point of going through all that effort would be in waiting for someone to figure it out. I have to agree.I want my 1st hide to be special. The creativity side of hiding caches appeals to me as much as finding.I'd lose interest after all this and move on to a new hide as well.
  18. Maybe it is time to place a V**gra cache in his honor. hmmmm....could be a Big Beer Belly Issue which would increase the difficulty of the find................
  19. Yes!!! A great truth you have put forth here.In the truest and highest sense no one can offend you unless you take ownership of it.Each and and everyone of us has the freewill to choose how we react to anything we experience in life. Our reactions are a great gift,a wonderful chance to look within and search using a tool called self honesty. As for trying to protect others....that journey is not ours to take. The bumps in my life are just as important as the easy times. Is joy diminised by saddness or does it become more precious. The sensation of hot is meaningless if one has never experienced cold. The gift of experiences is the opportunity to ask who "I Am" in relationship to that. As for on topic....after 8 pages...I'm as close as anybody hehe
  20. Our Geocaching was out of control untill we tried VIAGRA.....Just Kidding!!!!!! That commerical was just on....who writes this stuff...? Anyway...... Planojoe you nailed it,from a entertainment $/per hour standpoint its fantastic value, good exercise and quality time well spent, add to that the tech side and all the off shoots of that,it exercises the ole grey matter as well. Its a great hobby that can be just as interesting on a rainy day learning something, or out exploring and hunting on a sunny day.Works for me,indoors or out. Edited:Because I quoted the wrong product after watching another commerical.Apologies to the CIALIS guy who lost his socks, wallet and had a flat tire all in the same morning.I sincerely hope your day got better.
  21. NCOECO (No Chance Of Ever Catching On) Ohh.... I had such high hopes for mine....but...it would'nt work anyway, its to easy to confuse with: Found All Relevant Tupperware....man... 15 minutes does'nt last long does it?
  22. FART: Found After Repeatedly Trying. ...sorry....sometimes this stuff just pops out.........stupid brain......
  23. ya it never hurts to check for sure,I did that with my wireless mouse the other day, eliminate the obvious first...it happens sometimes.
  24. I'm sorry to hear that.Thats two garmins now in the last few days that won't power up.Hang in there, hopefully some of the Go To Guys on here can shed some light on it,or at least let you know if its worth trying to salvage.I have two of them so I'd like to know as well.I hope you can get it fired up.
