  1. Update on the Hungarian team: Bojta's Racer #3 is in Wisconsin and is probably out of the race with 2 discoveries and no miles logged. It was picked up by skaterchick12034 who keeps it hostage. Her response to our second inquiry (after not getting a response a month earlier to the first one: "I haven't had time to cache lately calm down its a f***ing game get off my back or I'm not going to put it out." Maybe the Racer with the worst performance can get an award, too? Or the one getting the rudest response? brokev7's Hummer Racer Geocoin #12 is in Texas, haven't moved for over a month, covered 421 miles so far. Has two photos. ramgab's Blue Hummer Racer #26 is in Michigan, has only 262 miles, has two photos, hasn't moved for a month. Strombus's Racer #22 is in Kansas. It started to move finally. So far it covered 450 miles. A nice guy picked it up, dipped it in a few caches, took a photo, and now I am hoping that he puts it in a busy cache soon. taska's Blue Hummer Racer #27 is doing very well! It went from Texas to Washington, gathered 1,190 miles already and is now heading to Australia. It is probably there already, just unpacking, refueling, before being dropped in a cache.
  2. Bojta and I did what we could and I am happy to report that Racer #6 and #25 already went through the hands of 3 cachers and with their help they have left Hungary and currently are in Austria. This included quite some logistics, and having the right people at the right place at the right time, both willing to make an effort. It is nice to have cacher friends all over, but I think now these racers are out of my territory, on their own. Good luck to them! I hope racer #3 and #22 gets their share of attention and care, too. We are very excited to see their progress.
  3. Racer #6 and #25 left the garage and are waiting for their luck in their first cache in Pécs, Hungary. They decided to stay together for the time being. It seems that in their tough, big bodies they have a bit coward hearts. They felt uncomfortable driving around on our narrow streets. They loved the potholes though, thinking that it was driving off-road, when it was actually in the center part of town. Welcome to Hungary!
  4. So, I guess, we need to go geocaching tomorrow!
  5. Here is the pace car that I think we should be using for a race with BLUE hummers that is being hosted by Daffy! Perfect! I cannot imagine anything more appropriate.
  6. I see that one of the racers was posted on Facebook and gets virtual discovery logs. Is that allowed?
  7. Yes, that is really a good idea! I assumed we would use something like that.
  8. Racer #6 and #25 made it to the start line! Of course the mailman came at an usual time, about 3 hours late, and of course 2 minutes after we left from home. So, in the evening Bojta and I got on our bikes and went to the post office to fetch our guests. We decide to give them a quick sightseeing tour in our city of Pécs, so we visited the main square and the cathedral and also a friend. Bojta showed some riding tricks to the Hummers, how to jump off stairs, and such. So they are ready for the race!
  9. I am sorry for the Hungarians holding up the race, but it seems mail is slow getting here. Still nothing in my mailbox - and I assume it is the same for the others.
  10. Excellent picture featuring a great coin! I am happy for you!
  11. You can really make the dogs pose like this??? It is amazing! Excellent picture. I can never accomplish it with my children. A lot of cookies along with patience will do the trick Cookies, patience, and bright dogs. Hopefully my children are bright enough also, so I just have to get the cookies and master the patience part. I love your picture. Today I finally opened my Valentine's Day mission replacement gift. Thank you very much again! I love ice-cream and it is coin I always wanted to have! Thank you very much. The TB is very cute too, and its message "The best finds are other geocachers" is very true. And that is an unexpected gift that I did not know about when I started geocaching. I was quite a loner at that time. I will probably send it on a mission to go to my geocacher friend, Pilot searcher, in Fort Myers, Florida.
  12. You can really make the dogs pose like this??? It is amazing! Excellent picture. I can never accomplish it with my children.
  13. Very nice! I love them all. Probably the Dogs and the dragons the most. What is the dog coin?
  14. I have just received my set of Phaistos geocoins. I had to order the whole set, because I could not choose from the pictures. Now I cannot choose when they are already in my hand! They are so beautiful! Wonderful design very nicely executed. I think I like the Minos (As-blue) and the Prometheus (AS-G) the most, but also the Pasiphae (brown-gold AE) and the AS-black (what is the name for that?). Thank you for these great coins! I just looked at the trailer hoping to figure out what the AS-black coin is called. It seems that the some names changed after the production of the film. I do not have a Dionysos, Ariadne, Deadalus, but I have Minos and Prometheus, that I did not notice on the film. :-) You have so many leftover names, do you plan to come out with more color versions? I guess if you keep taking names from Greek mythology you can come up with a 1000 other coin.
  15. I cannot wait to see where my Hummer #22 goes and whose Hummer chooses to start the race from Pécs, Hungary. If it gets here on time, it can come to Poland with me! And that reminds me of a new category for the competition: Most countries visited!
  16. Beautiful design! I wish I were Canadian, so I could order a batch. I hope a few versions will be available in your store.
  17. Claire, Claire, the replacement mission has arrived! So far I could resist opening it completely, because what I have seen already made me happy enough for the day. I guess, I should have resisted opening the envelop, also, but I could not do that. Thank you very much! I would love to be able to hold it like this until Easter, but I am afraid, I won't be able to.
  18. Gary, is that legal??? Quick, quick, make a rule against it! Or for it! Hungarians are good inventors, if he can do it, we will surely come up with something, too! I already have some ideas! Wings! Or remote control that will drive my car from one cache to the next! So that will take care of visiting the most caches and travelling the most miles. But, it will also drive to every event on its way to get all the "discovered" logs. No one can steal it, because it will simply drive away at the end of the event or from anyone's backpack. It will be solar powered which will work well as the race is taking place mostly in the sunny period of the year. The flat roof is perfect for installing the solar panel. I will just need to move the #22 sticker from the top to the back or front of the car so the solar panel does not cover it. "The First Environmentally Friendly Hummer" award should be given to this car, too!
  19. I am amazed how you make it more and more exciting and more and more fun for everyone. I can hardly wait for the start of the race! But I feel we all won already. I feel so spoiled! We must be superstar drivers to receive such excellent service. The info tag is great! The numbers are great. All the little details you add just make it more entertaining. Thank you.
  20. It has not even started and you are out already?
  21. Its a Hummer, which side of the road doesn't matter ! :D
  22. Thank you very much, Claire. So what will I do if I get two? If it never arrives this will be my first mail ever lost. Were you the one sending me the first one also?
  23. No, you are not the only one from Germany. I believe ice13-333 is from Germany, too. There surely is a strong European representation! Yanagi, Dofferson, Pingos, Team Red-one, Getzie family are from the Netherlands, Bojta, brokev7, ramgab, taska, Strombus are from Hungary. I do not know the rest, but it would be fun to know what states and countries are here. I see Canada also. Modified as more info became available.
