  1. I want to place some caches but i need some camouflage tape. Any one know where I could buy some?

p.s. I know online but that is a last resort, it costs money to send my Korean Won to the US and make it into dollars. Id like to pay cash for it IN Korea.

I've alerted the local cachers here, hopefully you'll hear something :P

Don't they sell duck tape in Korea?

  3. I have a bookmark list called "To Do". When I try to view it to delete caches, I am directed to a page that says I don't have permission to view the list. I've tried with 2 different computers and have deleted cookies, etc. but no go.

    Whatda??

Mr Jiffey's Summer Meltdown 2008 Geocoin #36 with my weather station. Why do I look so grumpy? :)

Because this has been the coldest Summer on record, that's why!!!! Overcast and cold!!! Maybe #36 with my weather station will provide the meltdown we have yet to have. Hope so!!!!!

  5. I don't know where that barracks would be.

The Muni has bus service that covers the whole town but not Elmendorf. There are stops near the main gate and the Government Hill gate. The website is here:People Mover

But better still is hooking up with fellow cachers. Drop into our forum and give some datres and I'm sure someone would be willing to take you caching with them.

  6. There have been many questions asked in here and there are no answers or there are guesses by the other forum members.

I disagree. I and other members of the Groundspeak team have been responding to inquiries. There are so many different flavors of PocketPC devices, however, that it is very difficult to support all of them. So you should expect to have to work through some hoops in order to get X bluetooth GPS to work with Y device if it hasn't been installed before.

Location-based gaming isn't exactly a proven product so folks will have to understand that the idea of moving into a new technology or concept will be frustrating for some. Early adopters need to have a can-do attitude about something new and interesting.

Obviously we want the Player working flawlessly on every single GPS-enabled device but we have to start somewhere. Having it run on a Garmin Colorado is only the first step but IMO a very big one. Expect more support for more devices as the activity grows.

After 7 years running Geocaching.com I can see many similarities between the early days of geocaching and the first days of Wherigo. Have faith!

Agree! Not true. I posted a question and the answer came quickly.

I am an early adopter (much to my chagrine with Vista) and think this is coming together nicely.

  7. Maybe you could try and rename the zip file (just delete the .zip at the end) this worked for us. Somehow the packages were renamed as zip files during the download although they aren't zip files at all.

I have Builder operational now but still can't get Player to download other than as a Zip file using IE, Opera or Firefox.

Sorry. I mistook the problem with the Builder. Rename the player to .CAB and install it directly on the device.

It's working now. I saw it mentioned once but it should be a big note that these files do not download correctly with Opera.

Thanks, and it looks like fun!!!!!!!!! We are trying to get enough demand for you to come to Alaska :D

BTW: Using a IPAQ 2795 and a bluetooth GPS.

  10. I don't know if it was the .NET install or the Wherigo but I put them on the SD card on my IPAQ rx5720 and now all the other folders on the storage card seem to have gone :)

There is a single strange file the seems to be 15M in size.

Should I not have put .NET and Wherigo on the SD card?

Has anyone else seen this and is there any way to recover, or do I just have to re-install the missing files again?

    Cheers,

    Trevor

How did you put them on the SD card?

If you put the SD card into a reader, it is likely that the card got reformatted when the new files were added.

  11. All this NIT PICKING is for the birds. It's up for sale and I don't see anyone esles coin picked apart.

I do this for a reason and it sure the heck isn't to make money. By the time I put in padded enevelope have confirmation receipt attached that eats up the postage. I have mailed 5 at a time and ended up paying extra out of my Pocket. I also have Soldier cards that go with the Tag if Its a soldier we have lost since 2001. if they would like apond request. AT NO COST TO THEM. I don't hear anyone asking other coin sellers this crap. Thanks to our Soldiers you have the right to NIT PICK. But This is a little much.

Well, there's a new sales tactic....attack the buyers for asking for info! That should really help your cause. :anicute:

I'm thinking, since you gave very little info, that most would like to know what they are buying? If someone talked to me like that when I was asking questions about a product at a store, I'd walk right out (well, maybe after complaining to management).

People need info to understand what is going on. I've yet to see where the money is going (TMA asked as to charity), no mention of how these were made etc... Yelling at those asking questions...not good!

My Bad, I thought Yelling was when you typed in the whole post as caps. Did you ask where the money goes to other coin seller??

Other coin sellers don't have the "appearance" of potentially profiting from someone elses pain and suffering. Note that I am not saying you are, just that it has the appearance of profiteering. Again yet another reason why you are getting so many questions. Believe me I would love to have one of these, in fact it is on my seeking list, but NOT at $12.00 shipped. If a tag is being released in a soldiers name for every one sold you might to consider letting the purchaser pick the soldier that is represented so they to can feel connected to your cause. Anyway good luck . . .

I have no problem with the buyer picking a special soldier who has been lost in the line of duty. . I only have access to soldiers that have passed from 2001 to present. If For someone in the service, they will have to email all information. to have Card made for them. At no cost.

I bought 5 of these and I don't give a hoot what they are called. It is the thought that counts and I think this was well intentioned and still is.

You nitpickers who had to keep piling on to defend yourselves are the reason many good causes die before their time. People take this stuff personally. I sure do!!!!!!!!

Questions were asked and answered. I see no reason this thread should have gone on and on.

Now pick on me if you'd like but I won't be back to read it so it'll be a waste of your time which it appears you have a lot of.

    GREAT JOB USA 45!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. I'm just glad you don't live in my area.

I'm not a big FTF hound, but there are some around here who are.

I know they would take a VERY dim view of this behavior.

Why drive up the angst level for no good reason?

Too bad he lives in our area
